Fantastic. — 2006 SLK 280 is fantastic. Has electric seats upgrade and metallic fleck silver. Sturdy, fast enough, daily driver, easy to maintain, very comfortable seats, great gas mileage, low insurance cost, high fun factor.

Great Car To Drive, Amazing Sporty Look And Feel. — Performance: Acceleration is great, throws you to the back of the seat when you use the kick-down behind the accelerator. Braking is great, stops the car at a great distance while it also has ABS so it does not skid on wet or snowy surfaces. Handling is sporty but has both sport and comfort mode for those long drives. Its 228 horsepower, 3.0-liter V6 engine gives the real feeling of driving a sports car. It's just right for buyers seeking the pleasure of open motoring and the luxury of a Mercedes without the higher cost of the more powerful engine. Build Quality: Great build, design is flawless. When the roof is down the windows provide for a great drive without any noise and cold air blowing through. Car is extremely aerodynamic so it picks up speed much faster than any of its competitors. Appearance: Car has a flawless sleek design that turns heads when driven by. It is on of the extremely few Hardtop convertibles thats in the market. Leather upholstery gives it that great feeling when driven, along with a nine-speaker sound system with an in-dash CD player, an antitheft alarm and Tele Aid telematics, which provides emergency response service or direct connection to the nearest Mercedes dealer. Cost of Ownership: Gas mileage ranges from 18 city to 28 highway. Premium fuel is required and recommended. Maintenance is every 13,000 miles so there is no hassle for oil changes or brake flushes ever 3,000 miles. Fun Factor: This Mercedes Benz is great to own, it provides the best feeling of a sport car on local roads and especially on highways. Runs 0-60 in 6 seconds while its the safest car to be in. It has Electronic stability program, anti-braking system and traction control.

Pros

This car has been my most favorite car.  It is fun to drive and looks good.

Cons

It is a very small two-seater.  This is not a family car, nor is there much storage space in the trunk.

Yummy — I would buy this car all over again. I've never had a car that I loved as much as this one. The main drawback, the main issue that drives me nuts (actually there are two): 1) Where the cup holder is, right in front of the air conditioning/heating vents. Very inefficient for keeping drinks cold/hot; 2) The factory radio is difficult to replace. The dealer won't touch it and so far I haven't found any other places that will take it on. It has a built in telephone that will not sync with my smart phone. Overall, aside from the minor issues above, I love love love this car.

Pros

UPDATE MARCH 2014:  the car is still running great.  Ive had no repairs or major maintenance issues, other than the require annual checkups such as oil, brake fluid, etc.
JUNE 2013: I purchased a previously owned 2006 350 SLK with less than 45,000 miles from Oxnard MB over 6 months ago, AND LOVE IT!!!  I'm amazed to look down at the speedometer and see 80 mph!  It's a normal cruise for this car.  Other than the CD reject button (in which Qxnard repaired under warranty), I have had no problems with this gem of a sports car.  People are stunned that it is a used car...I'm still stuned too.

Cons

UPDATE MARCH 2014:  unfortunately and on occasions, the car attracts envious lookers and haters who will tailgate the car, making me put the pedal to the metal leaving them in the dust (smile).

Fast, Fun, Fantastic! — No dislike, but a preference...a couple more inches long in the Driver's right leg room. Then again, I can resolved that with the 350 SLK AMG or the 500 SL! Otherwise, this car was an excellent purchase for me and my need to drive with the top down. Airscarf is a nice feature, but I love wearing my colorful scarfs and hat/caps, instead.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Fast, Perfect California Car — The airscarf is a must have on any convertible, too bad the only company that has it is Mercedes! :) One of the best cars I've ever owned, from a power, looks and technology standpoint. Great handling and the hard top convertible is the best in its class.

Pros

Super fast, super loud even without any modification. Drives so well. Very close to the ground. Feels like you are playing NFS when driving this car. Very good summer car. Trunk space actually not bad at all.

Cons

Not very good fuel economy. Noisy on highway. Super stiff suspension. Seats only 2.

25

You Get Speed And Eyeballs — This car is brutal and mean. It is so loud even without any exhaust modification. It goes from 0-60mph in just 4.3 seconds. It will grab eyeballs everywhere you drive it to with the rear diffusor and the matte finish. And it is a good summer drive being a hard top convertible. But it does nothing more than running fast and looking cool. The trunk size is OK but it is a 2 seater and you can only fit 2 people in. The suspension is VERY HARD. And you can only get averagely 14-17 mpg. In short, it only does what it was designed to do really well.

Pros

The sound from the exhausts

Cons

The roof will only fold when traveling at less than 5mph, some cars do it at 30mph

Slk 350 — The best thing about this car is its very versatile. You can shove it in comfort mode, put the heated seats and airscarf on and sit back and relax your drive, or you can shove it in tiptronic and manual, turn off the ESP and have a right old riot drifting it etc. The car weighs approx 1500 kgs put the V6 3.5 litre engine churns out 270 bhp which is the equivilent of having a cosworth engine tuned to stage 1. For a car that weighs 1.5 t to do 0-60 in just over 5 seconds is extremely good, the sound from the twin pipes is also imense, maybe i'll get the V8 AMG next!!!!

It's top of the line...Fabulous!

No reason to avoid it unless you need to drive around with more than 2 people in the car.

I Have Suggested It To My Friend And I Will Buy Another One Soom. — It was a really fun car. The heated seats made for a fun drive on cold evenings down the coast of California. I would really rate this a 4.5 but I didn't have that option. I will definitely buy another one. The handling is so much fun. Easy and can turn around on a dime. The options make it the perfect complement for what you expect in a Mercedes. Gotta Love it! My friend even bought one after I did. What fun we had with our little side by side road trips. Cheers to Mercedes for the hard top convertible that is automatic. I'll never go back to manual again.

My Slk 55 Amg Special Series — I like that it's not just an AMG version. The performance is unique in ways which only Mercedes can describe and the Looks of the car are out of this world sexy. The cost ownership is definitely not something to toss to the side when it comes to an AMG. It's not a cheap car so you can't expect cheap service. When all is said and done I couldn't have made a more attractive choice.
