CarGurus Overview

The LS is the entry-level trim for Chevy's new retro wagon. This trim offers most of the essential comfort and convenience amenities as standard, including full power accessories, air conditioning with cabin filtration, a six-speaker CD audio system, a flat-folding front-passenger seat and cruise control. Satellite radio, OnStar and a sunroof are all available as add-ons.

The LS is powered by a 2.2 liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 143 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on all HHRs, while a four-speed automatic is optional. A slightly more powerful engine is available with the upper level trims, but if performance is a higher priority than attractive retro styling, most reviewers suggest looking elsewhere. The HHR's steering and suspension are both better suited for the 'slow and steady wins the race' mindset.

This overview covers the LS trim only.
