Audi Delivers Big In The Little A3 3.2 S-line Quattro — Performance-- 3.2L Quattro gets me there in ANY weather, passing the big Ford 350s as they slip slide in the rain or snow. Breaking... I need to test this out more. Handles like a katana in the hands of an angry master ninja. Mileage--my wife gets 24-26 mpg...i get around 17 the way I drive it. Appearance...Beautiful in any light, great commuter car amid the plain jane trucks and Korean wanna-be european knock-off look-a-like cars. Audi bumper to bumper warranty is beautiful peace of mind.

Audi A3 - Rocks! — The DSG gearbox is fantastic. I love my padde shifters. I got the Sport package and so benefit greatly as far as handling goes, from good wheels and racing suspension. Get this car - although it's on the high end of pricing, I recommend it completely.

Pros

size is sufficient for my needs, paddle shift gearbox.

Cons

louder exhaust please, doesn't feel fast (though, when you look at the speedo, you're well past the national limit!!)

That Paddle Shift Gearbox Is Amazing — my black a3 is very black. none of this metallic or pearlescent paint, just good old solid black. i bought this car brand new because it worked out even cheaper than a golf GTi because VW wouldn't discount the car. basically they are the same car with different suspension settings. a golf is probably better to drive, but 95% of the time trundling back and to from work, ain't gonna make much difference. i opted for the paddle shift gearbox so my wife could drive and it is a revolution in gearbox design. changes gear instantly like F1 racing cars. handling would be better if it weren't for those pirelli tyres. i don't like pirelli tyres, they give up to easily and are poor wet weather tyres. i added a lot of options onto to car when new thinking i would keep this car for a long time. over 2 grands worth and that doesn't include the paddle shift gearbox. it ain't the best hot hatch, it ain't the fastest, but it does everything what the best can do but just lacks that final 5 or even 10%. all it needs is a slighter sportier exhaust, a change of head unit, and an engine chip. i'm happy with the car, maybe not the best but 95% of the time, it's good enough for me.

Own 2006 A3 26000 Miles Later Awesome Car — I bought the very first A3 on sale in Arizona and 26,000 miles later i can honestly say Audi has stepped up their game on this car. I have had only 2 minor warranty claims that were repaired that day, and no other issues with the car over the last 20 months. I have the 2.0T DSG sport package with A LOT of aftermarket modifications to the car. And even driving the car hard and sporty with all the aftermarket stuff on it, the A3 has never even flinched at its daily commuting task or occassional autocross and track use. If you are looking for a premium luxury car that happens to be economical and extremely fun to drive, then look no further than the A3. It is worth the price over the VW GTI, Jetta, Subaru WRX, and other cars that try to be in its class but none seem to measure up to the A3.

Pros

Love this car- turbo charged engine is perfect and so much fun to drive. Handles well with large cargo capacity.  Premium Bose sound system is excellent. Also, the comfy leather seats are very luxurious not to mention the incredible gas mileage saves us lots of money every month

Cons

No cons- just selling the car because it is a little small for my growing family.

Audi A3 2.0t Sport Package- So Much Fun To Drive! — My favorite part about this car is the quick acceleration- it is nice to have a gas-saving turbo charged engine with a lot more power than most. Also, I love the classy look of this hatchback- making a hatchback look good is not always easy to do but Audi has done it perfectly. The moon roof in the front and the skylight in the back is a huge favorite for my daughter- almost like having a glass ceiling! Of course the steering wheel controls make driving easy and carefree. This A3 is low maintenance and is just a great example of premium Audi quality.

Audi A3 2006+ Is The Nicer Model Shape With All The Gadgets Any Man Would Love — I like the feel of the car as you drive, the acceleration is very responsive. Build Quality being german its always of high standard, Mileage is low including i done nearly 10k since i have had the car. Fun Factor is very high just the Performance keeps it subtle and not a real street threat :D

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Black Beauty — 2006 2.0 FSI A3 3-door Full S-line body kit, consisting of: - front and rear bumper - S-line grille and badging - sills and rear spoiler - 17" 5-spoke alloys (subsequently changed to 19" R8 V12 TDi wheel) Performance - not as much fun as the 2.0T, but no slouch. Brakes are precise and sharp and handling is very predictable and allows for lots of fun on winding roads. Build quality - usual Audi fit and finish. No rattles or niggling hassles that motorplan can't sort out. Appearance - handsome from most angles. S-line package offers a break from the majority of A3/S3's driving around. Wide rear appearance not to everyone's liking. Running costs - not a performance vehicle so it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to run. Fill her up with fuel and she's good to go. Fun factor - fun drive. Great for twenty-somethings looking for a hatch that's slightly more exclusive than the majority of the competitors but without being dull.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Audi Review — This car is a ton of fun for the money. OK it is just a rebadged VW with Audi styling but they did a good job. The 2L Turbo is a great engine that still gets 29MPG on the highway. And the DST tranny is quick shifting.

great handling, but not great fuel economy

Cons

No reason to pay a premium fo rthe V6 now the 2.0 is avail with 4WD

Great Car But Over Priced Vs It's 2.0t Sibling — Great Car at an unrealistic premium to the 2.0 turbo - Could be justified when the 2.0T was only available in FWD, but with the 2.0T now available in Quattro, there's no reason to pay a premium for the V6. The V6 is somewhat thirsty, unless you are very disciplined, and weighs more than the 2.0T. The DSG gearbox is outstanding, but longevity is somewhat unproven.
