ProsHandling - feels very secure on twisty roads. ConsFirm ride in town, noisy at high speed

Great Practical Small Car Thats Cheap To Run And Great To Drive. — Performance is adequate - 3rd gear is quite tall and, therefore, useful on twisty roads with short straight sections. Brakes are good - not too sharp - but easy to modulate in heavy traffic. Handling is very good - low speed ride is unsettled. Very reliable and tough, but some unexplained noises have developed - either suspension or steering. Styling hasn't dated - very distinctive. Interior quality has been surpassed by more modern designs, but controls are simple to use. Seat comfort could be better. It has been very cheap to run in terms of servicing and repairs, 42mpg economy out of town. Overall, good fun to drive but too much road noise.

ProsFun to drive, Speedy, Stock sound system ConsColor, Interior

Sporty — Sporty It's got a pretty good handling system on it. Pretty happy with the sound system for stock. I really enjoy driving it for the sake of it keeping up with my shifting, braking, and turns. I like the exterior looks, but would rather have a nicer color such as black or white. I however do not like the interior that Ford decided to go with, they could have gone sportier. I like the mileage it gets and the maintnance is simple! All in all a great car.

Get It If You Like Driving — Excellent handling and brakes Excellent stereo (Audiophile system) Engine note gets a little tiresome Love the seats Almost as quick as the SVT but can run on regular gas Looks like a regular Focus- this can be good or bad depending on your point of view Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsCost-wise; very good, great mileage, seating capacity for 5. ConsAvoid the 2005 model, get the 2006-2007 model. The motor which turns CDs in the headunit is made by Sony for the 2005 model and burns out after a while. The 2006 and 2007 models are made by Delphi.

Buy It. It Looks Like A Sporty Euro-sedan And Handles Like A Bmw 3-series. — The ST looks more aggressive when the silver grille insert is swapped out with the black one from the SES. I can't give a 5-star rating on the build since there's a LOT of plastic in the interior and unfortunately made more on the "cheap side" causing it to break more easily than in other models. I can only give 4-stars for the 'appearance' category since the black rear-bumper insert doesn't have provisions for a second exhaust tip. This requires fabrication on the user-end. Performance-wise, this car hauls ass and is about as quick as a Mustang GT when purchased as the ST package. On long road trips, a trip to Austin and back was made on only one tank of gas and totalled 408 miles. The Fun Factor increases considerable when adding performance parts from www.steedafocus.com and www.focussport.com. If you're a gearhead, opt in for the Cosworth build-up kits. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I Don't Like Ford, But I Like My Focus. — Clean look cars, pick up pretty quickly. Good gas mileage. Bad upholstery. One I got it wet via a bathing suit, it stained my seats. Oh and there is no way to pull the back seats down from the backseat. You have to go through the trunk. It's really annoying. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Ford Focus — Stock performance is good, but thanks to the aftermarket you cant believe the potential these cars have. The focus is everything you need in this day and age. The car gets great gas mileage, it is fun to drive, you can fit all your friends in it. I am currently in the process of personalizing my focus. I love my Focus!

ProsReliable Consno real complains, had to replace a throttle body, no big deal

A Tough Little Car — I was looking for something a little better on gas than a mini van and I found it. Great little car and it was cheap to run and for repairs ( which was minable). It was a wagon so it was a little more roomier than a sedan which was very useful. Primary Use: Family transportation |
