Prosreliable, tough, roomy, powerful Conslow fuel economy, wider turning radius then smaller trucks

Extremely Reliable Suv — The Explorer is a midsized SUV, that’s extremely reliable as well as very stylish. The Explorer is a No frills reliable truck, that get’s decent high way mileage. Some of the newer models step up the options available, but this truck really shines without those extra gadgets.

Love It, But Only Buy One If You Need One. — Performance-Acceleration is quick for SUV. Literally goes anywhere!! Braking is strong and linear with no drama, Handling is fantastic concidering its 4600lbs and over 6 feet tall. The electronic stability control keeps everything rubber side down. As far as build quality goes there hasnt been anything to really go wrong with it except a seal on the front diff which the dealer took care of. The stock appearance is better than most mini-van-esque SUV's out there and the addition of much larger AT/S tires did the trick. Gas mileage isn't bad for the Mustang derived 4.6L V8. On the highway you can get up to 22 MPG massaging the pedal. In the city its too big and too fun to get any better than 14 MPG. Oil Changes come by every 5000 miles and they are only $30 at most. The regular scheduled maintainance has been really inexpensive. I do most of the work so outside of new brakes and tires its been faithful. As fun factors go it depends on your personality. If you have a blast knowing that the 12" of snow/mud/whatever is merely scenery then yeah its a very entertaining vehicle to drive. If your idea of fun is carving canyon roads its one of the best SUV's that can actually tow over 7000 lbs, but i could find it tiring trying to navigate the twisties. Some other things to be aware of is that if you have never had a vehicle with ESC/RSC it can plainly scare the stuff out of you the first time it kicks in. in hard. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Ford Explorer Xlt — The performance of this truck is great. It is build great compared to other Ford model cars. The appearance is very nive, great exterior which I would love to have some things done to is still great. The interior is Leather & wood grain throughout. It has 2nd & 3rd row seating, or extra cargo. It is pretty good on gas, especially on long trips. It is a pretty fun car.

ProsLots of room and great in wet or slippery weather conditions. ConsGas milage

My Ride — Drive is nice, gas milage is a bit low but the auto 4WD plays that part and gets better in the summer months, lots of room with seating for 7. Breaking is good as well as the acceleration. Stereo system is good. Exterior styling is modern. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosits awesome Consnothing

Again Its Awesome — its a beast....rolling with a 4.6L V8 , a custom tune, true dual exhaust and a cold air intake its like a big mustang. a little scary around corners at high speed but otherwise its awesome....more mods to come like underdrive pullies until i can afford a supercharger....and then after that possibly a 4.6L DOHC 32V.... Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Ford Explorer — good family car, needs more power, good handling on the road, ugly shape the new shape it looks muc better, it has 4.0 V6 engine with 210 BHP which compare to the body weight it is too low, at the end it is good for family, and it is cheap to own and maintain Primary Use: Family transportation
