ProsGreat heavy duty truck! Great performance! Powerful, comfortable. ConsThe truck body sits quite high above the frame due to the profile of the Allison transmission.

2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4x4 6.6l Turbo Hd Ls Duramax Diesel — 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4X4 6.6L Turbo HD LS with the Duramax Diesel has Allison automatic transmission, cloth seats, power heated outside rear mirrors that extend out for towing, dual climate controls, center console/armrest, electronic 4-wheel drive engagement, auto dimming rear view mirror, cruise, adjustable tilt steering wheel ABS 4 wheel disc brakes, and a whole lot more! My truck averages 20 mpg. The diesel engine always starts well in cold weather. Engine is quiet! Cab interior is quiet and road noise is very low. Comfortable seating, even for driving long distances. Visibility is good. Controls are within easy reach. The stereo audio sound quality is awesome (I enhanced mine)! Brake performance is good. Steering is responsive. Electronic transfer from 2WD to 4WD is seamless. Instrument panel clearly visible and well illuminated during night driving. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Love It — i love this truck. it's great for handling. acceleration is okay but it is a truck it not meant for quick acceleration meant for slow powerful acceleration. hasn't needed much in repairs, just general maintenance with breaks and oil changes. i love the looks of the angled head lights, i put a grill guard on it to make it more my style and one that has a step on it so i can reach things, not meat for short people lol, but what truck is meant for short people. gas mileage isn't great but it's a truck, it's good for being a truck. this is a extreamly fun truck to drive. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

ProsAll out Power for towing needs.. You can't even tell when your towing anything. ConsIts too much fun.

Duramax Power — I love the Duramax Diesel. The power you can make is just rediculous. You don't even have to do a lot to push over 500 horsepower. Right now I'm pushing over 500HP at the rear wheels and over 700 Lb/ft of tourque. I still get 23 mpg on the highway and I never have to worry about emissions. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

2005 Turbo Duramax Diesel — The Chevrolet has great torque and its great for towing since it has the Allison transmission. Currently, the truck has over 80,000 miles and its still running strong. Been as far as Odessa, Missouri and had not one problem. Well its a Chevrolet...I wouldn't expect anything less.

Silverado Truck Review — Great powerful truck. Fun to drive. Bad fuel economy. Overall this is a great truck for those who need to tow heavy equipment, trailers, etc. , but to drive it around town or to the grocery store - there are better options out there. Primary Use: Commuting to work
