Cons

not enough people buying them and need more add-ons for them

My Avalanche — It does everything and it is not as bad on gas as you would think. I love love love my Avalanche!!!! IT accelerates fairly quick handling is like driving a car. Not needed any major repairs and it's been well worth the money. Glad I picked this one over a car.

Anonymous bought one because:

I bought this car for a friend. She found the Ford would more than meet her needs, but we found an Avalanche that appealed to her and that became her choice

Pros

Great drive, built off the suburban frame which I owned previously and loved. The cargo hauling is great and towing.

Cons

Gas and all the plastic around the outside body now is a pain.

Avalanche/suburban Lover — Went from a 6 young kids family camper to teens and needed a truck to haul a boat and , things for the new house finally. So I traded in the Suburban which I loved for the Avalanche which is built on the same frame. The truck runs great and still is. The only issue I really have is all the plastic they put around the bottom of the truck and bed of the truck. I guess they all are now but it doesn't take much to scratch it or bend it. The 4 wheel drive and traction control are great.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

My Favorite To Date — After owning 6 cars and 3 trucks this one has had the least amount of issues, runs strong after 9 years, 125k miles. Very comfortable for long hauls, fits 4 Large men easily while pulling a 14' trailer full of motorcycles. Versatility of the rear window and seats to open the cargo area is awesome! The two built-in toolboxes that double as coolers for tailgating is absolutely genius.

Pros

It's a truv a truck/SUV and it does anything and everything in between

Cons

Only problem I have is that it can only tow 8k pounds I need more

It Is A Sleek Work Horse — I've owned this vehicle for going on 2 years and it has never let me down. I've done quite a few upgrades and made it look and sound just like I want it to but I am now looking for a diesel to tow with.

Pros

We really like the over look of the Dodge.  The interior was very comfortable and all of the amenities were easily accessible.

Cons

The gas mileage is our only concern .

This Was A Very Well Built Suv, I Would Look Into Purchasing One. — this is a great turning, stopping, ride, comfort, handling SUV. The few things we didn't like about it were the running boards are too wide making getting out awkward. We have owned several other smaller SUV. This one has it all. The size just doesn't feel big. It feels like a 5 seater SUV. I love looking at it, driving it, washing it, and packing in the family.

Extremely Impressed. — Wonderful ride, quite, smooth, compartments for storage, bed cover is nice, never was particularly fond of the style until I became an owner, now I love it. Even the fuel economy is not what I like, I have to argue with myself when it comes to a road trip.

05 Avalanche — This is a great truck almost 200K and still running strong. Pulls trailer around most of the time, and still achieves reasonable gas mileage. Overall has been a great truck and hopefully will still get another 100K out of it moving forward.

Pros

Tows, hauls, versatility. Can lock your stuff up in the back. With midgate down you can sleep two comfortabily .

Cons

Only con is milage. But for 3/4 ton truck that can do it all. Thats the sacrafice.

Will Buy Another. — I love this truck. Wish I did not have to sell. Buying a house. Most versatile vechicle out there. Only thing I would change is make it a diesel for better fuel milage. With 8.1 you get about 10-13 mpg. Chevy should make this with a duramax and I'll buy another one.

Pros

I like the looks and comfort!

Cons

Fuel economy sucks and it has quite a few problems!

2005 Avalanche — I love the Avalanche, except for the fact that I have put quite a few dollars in repairs, and for the fact that it is underpowered for what I need in towing power. For a single guy it is great. It looks great, sounds great (after an aftermarket exhaust), but for a famly of 4 with a 25 foot camper, no! I will be selling and upgrading to a 3/4 or 1 ton truck!

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)
