My Scooby — I love this car, most people would frown on it as it is not the turbocharged WRX or STI. I however prefer this car as it gives me more room to improve on what is already an outstanding car. It is built very well, I'm going on 72000 miles and have had no problems (at least ones that I have not directly caused lol)

Porsche-like Performance With Room Enough For A Full Drumset... — I just bought this car a little while ago on cars.com and drove it 1600 miles back from Boston via Canada. Since then I've driven it around town in a variety of road conditions. As a drummer, sedans and sports cars are generally impractical for me so I had resigned myself to many years of no driving pleasure whatsoever... The WRX wagon is fantastic. 227 turbo-charged horsepower in an all-wheel drive hatchback yields impressive acceleration, and handling. The four-wheel disc brakes complete this empowering package of exquisite balance. This car has no competition whatsoever in its class and year range. Top it off with saving $3,000 off the Minneapolis prices by buying in Boston and you've got one hell of a satisfied buyer.

A Grippy Weekend Rally Car With Space Enough To Fit An Entire Rock Band Worth Of Gear! — There are many cars on the road today, and as more and more of todays young drivers switch from V8 muscle to japanese tuning we have a medley of cars to choose from. What ever it is your looking for, the new tuner lifestyle will suit you. From 40 mpg to 10 sec drag times its clear the 4 cylinder is here to stay. With gas prices soaring to new records this could be the end of combustion engines as we know it. But in the middle of all this is my pic for the best new age sports car, the Subaru Inprezia WRX. This little car is powered by a 227HP Turbo Charged and Intercooled 4 cylinder boxer engine. Stock the WRX is a real go getter and a very respectable car. Its quick, Tight turns, and just feels right in your hands. With the turn of the key the motor comes alive and its clear from the sound this is no regular 4 banger. The WRX is perfect for the weekend warrior looking for a car to get into Auto Cross yet still able to get back and forth to work with no fuss. My 2004 Java Black WRX wagon is just this car. Its roomy, Quick, Responsive, and everything i could ask for in a car. Check one out, you wont forget it.

2004 Subaru Impreza Rs "zoro" — It has good handling, good speed, not sure if its stock engine, but overall awesome car. The only thing is i want a spoiler, and i want it to make it sound like its fast without actually being to fast. Any Suggestions? Primary Use: Commuting to work

Wolf In Sheepscloth. — The 2004 Impreza WRX is not a particularly slow car with its 225 standard horses. The Prodrive Performance Package (PPP) version makes it a much more desirable car. I am completely hooked. Prodrive modified the engine management and exhaust, boosting the output to 270hp. It's not an STI of course, but in the wagon it is a must. I tested several second hand cars with very low kms on the clock but they all shared the same problem: they were badly treated by their first owner. In the end, I found a good example. I agreed to buy it on Wednesday before a long week-end. On Monday, the seller contacted me to tell me he changed his mind and wouldn't sell the car after all. All I could do is tell him he was absolutely 100% right. This is a brilliant car. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I'll Be Sad When I Have To Get A New Car — I love my car! You feel in complete control, even in snowy conditions. It's super quick off the line, which is fun (unless you get beat by a mom in a minivan, but I wouldn't have any experience with that...) I've had hardly any maintenance problems.

Great Car — Great car! The performance of the 2.5 H4 engine are good. The engine is noisy when solicited but delivers what's expected. The maintenance cost are high as you have to maintain your Subaru very well for it to be on top of its art. But as the vehicle is very reliable, you don't spend much on repairs. The Subaru Impreza Outback Sport looks bold and robust as it is. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsReliable, fast, practicle (wagon) ConsNeeds 93 Octane gas minimum, Poor steering accuracy

Even Though I'm Glad I Owned This Car I Would Not Buy Another Unless The Problems Were Fixed — The compression of the engine was too aggressive for California 91 Octane gas. Under high load on a hot day the car would easily ping with audible detination which would cause the ECU to reduce the engine power. Very disappointing. Also the Steering was very inconsistent. For example when going straight with steering wheel straight car was fine. After taking a hard turn the steering wheel had to be held a little to the right orleft depending on the turn in order for the car to go straight. New stiffer rack bushings solved this problem, but once again very disappointing to get steering this bad from the factory. The way I drove the car I got about 22 MPG on average which consisted of 70% highway (80+ MPH) and 30% street driving. At high speeds the car was very stable, after the new steering bushings, and it had great acceleration in 5th gear above 75MPH which made it great fun to drive on long highway trips. If I wasn't careful I could easily reach 100MPH without realizing it. Overall the car needed very few repairs and I put over 100K miles on it in the 5 years I owned it.
