When you are inching to stop at a stop sign and feel you are clear, the 2nd shift just powers the vehicle zoooooooom....it's super amazing (you can feel the 2.0l 4-cyl working efficiently). It gives a mileage of ~26mpg.

Cons

Dollar guzzler when it comes to maintenance, and the not so great initial acceleration...what can you expect with a 2.0 liter 4-cyl engine generating ~160hp.

A Very Friendly German Car — The ride is fantastic, gear shifts are smooth, initial acceleration isn't too great but readily picks up from 2nd gear. Effortlessly speedy on overdrive and cruise. Interiors are not extravagant but suited for a comfortable 4 people ride.

great acceleration, good gas mileage, low maintance,good braking, excellent handling

premium fuel, synthetic oil changes, eats up front tire tread quick

Impressive Acceleration — In the time I owned this car, I had fun with it, its pretty fast for only a 1.8 engine.. got me in pleanty of trouble, (sound violations, speeding, ect.)

Fell In Love The First Time I Heard It Started! — Had to go to Indiana for ths one -- no black/black with leather available. Felt great driving a stick-shift again...probably miss this VW more than any other.

A little small.

Cheap On Gas. — Car is a little small, but everything else makes up for it. The trunk is a good size, but the opening isn't. The backseat legroom is non existant for adults, and the headroom in the back isn't very good either.

A very quick sleeper jetta. A lot of unexpected power.

Not the flashiest of cars.

2003 Jetta Gll 2.8 Vr6 — It is a sleeper. The car does not have too much to show that is is a six speed v6. Very peppy acceleration. It is a fun day to day car with a little sport to it: sport rims, sport seats, sun roof, exhaust tips etc.
