Pros

Great ride, comfortable seats, lots of room. Awesome acceleration, feel very safe driving.

Cons

MPG, Side panels on exterior of car faded.  Great car with no costly maintenance until the last two years, when we hit about 180,000mls.  Replaced fuel pump, main computer, ball joints, arms and alternator.  Had a problem with a little rust on roof, easy fix

Love My Expedition, Would Buy Another If I Could Afford It! — I have owned my Expedition for nine years and holding! Just recently have had to drop some serious money into it. Still worth fixing compared to buying another one. Because I would want another one just like it!! Great family vehicle, lots of room and comfortable for long road trips!

Very Dependable Good Family Vehicle That Served Multiple Purposes — For many years owned and truck and small car for daily commutes. Combined everything into one vehicle thus not having to upkeep two. Large and comfortable for family trips, hauling soccer team, at the same time nice enough to go out with the spouse and then served as a work horse to go to local building supply to pickup materials .....excellent multipurpose vehicle. Independent rear suspension makes it handle very well. Plus its a Ford.

Pros

Great dependability & roomy.  I like everything about the Expedition other than the gas mileage.

Cons

Fuel economy SUX!!! I guess that's the price you pay for size & room!!!  If you absolutely, positively have to haul around 8 or more people, then bite the bullet on gas & drive an Expedition!!!

Awesome Features & Room!!! — I like everything about the Expedition other than the fuel economy. Ford V8 5.4 & 4.6 are known for issues with coil-overs but they are and easy fix & I have a 4 yr UNLIMITED mileage Warranty on my Expedition that pays for the coil-overs & labor so I can keep riding without the burden of added maintenance/repairs!!!

Pros

5.4 liter V-8 is the larger V-8 of those available in this model, we choose it because in towing our bay boat or trailer we feel the more power would be better and the fuel mileage not that different.

Cons

Tires more expensive than smaller vehicles, but we put a little more aggressive tires on for handling the slippery wet boat ramps we have here in FL.  Repair costs are fair

Great Vehicle For All Around Use. — The only better SUV on the road was our 2000 Ford Excursion Diesel. We lived in snow country then and it was so neat to have an SUV that would pull those 8% grades without a hick-up. Since they don't make that one anymore, we choose to go with the Expedition and it is our mini-excursion (without the diesel engine of course).

Lovable Big Suv — Great vehicle for the price we got. big gas consumption. use big tires. good brakes, handling, easy to get parts because, is a Ford! 4.6L engine is a little beast. the transmission is awesome and very freaking strong as well.

2003 Expedition Ex-sheriff Search & Rescue K-9 Unit 4x4 — My expedition is a retired sheriff search & rescue k-9 unit that came with all the maintenance records. The computer was flashed at ford to increase performance and I added a high voltage ignition sys and throttle body spacer to gain 29+ mpg on the highway. With it being a government truck they kept very good maintenance on it with full records. I’ve had no break downs or worn parts due to its time as a k-9 unit. Search & rescue units seem to have less wear and abuse than patrol or drug enforcement units.

Comfort — Smooth ride, comfort, style, affordability, great body design, many features/options...dependability, & this vehicle has the capacity to perform many additional duties aside from transporting children safely & comfortably. The expedition is truly an SUV with much to offer, & the options are great!

Solid — I like this truck, when we purchased it what attracted us to it was the size and the versitility of the third row back seat. We have had it for ten years now and think it is it time for a change. It is a solid vehicle and we have not had many problems with it at all, but the thing that might not bring me back to the expedition is the finish. The materials that were used for these vehicles sems to be cheap and not thought out very well. With all that said it is a very solid truck.

Love My Suv — I love my Expedition. I hate to sell it, but my commute is too far for a large SUV. I wish my wife would drive it, then we could keep it. It has high miles, but that is a tribute to how good it is. It is in great shape. I will miss it a great deal.
