2003 Chevrolet Malibu Base Review
ProsMaintenance Costs/Labor, Price, Utility ConsReliability in its higher miles, performance, fails to inspire fun or confidence

The Car You Can Live With...for A While... — Fine enough get and go for a 3000 lb. car. Turning radius is ridiculously bad, and cornering, consequently is equally awful. Braking is solid. Rear view is rather awkward as the default suspension sets the car at an incline, thereby making backing up an adventure. Due to the light weight, incline suspension, and overall average handling at best, the rear has a tendency to slip out, especially in bad weather. However, it's a solid car, one that's fine for families and young folks to learn on. It will keep you safe and haul your crap without complaint most of the time. Overall, it's a fine car...until it hits 80k miles. I ditched this car because everything changes after about 80k. It's everything that was wrong with GM. There are some design features I never understood, like why the defroster was made such that it only defrosted the center 60% of the windshield and let the edges ice up...but those you can get past. What you can't get past is losing your car once a month for the new thing that broke. It's a cheap and easy repair, almost always, but...it's getting repaired all the time. For a first car or a temporary car while you save up, it does its job. What it doesn't do is inspire confidence in much of anything, and that's why ultimately, it's not worth keeping very long. ProsI would buy another someday. ConsNot a six seater, only a 5

It Is A Really Great Car.i Would Recommend This Car To A Friend. — I love my car. Gold Malibu. Tan interior. Drives efficiently. Great on the gas.I would buy another someday. I would love to have a sun roof in this car, but can't have all the possitives, and no negatives thats just life. It has a CD player, AC, electronic seats, tilts, spacious compartments. But no way of plugging in my IPOD. It is fun to drive, and fits my personality. It drives, very well, but when stopping its body frame shifts and squeaks. No it is not the brakes, guys. I have not had to make any repairs, other than minor wear repairs. It is a really great car.I would recommend this car to a friend.

Perfect For A Criminal And A Clean Getaway — Good performance from 3.1 liter v6 sporty suspension, and good traction from 215 width tires reliable as hell, and I beat the snot out of it cars last forever if taken care of interior is good but has rental-ish feel Very common car, looks are lacking Minimal customiztion options Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsAutomatic everything Consfew surface sratches

The Standard — More to come as I go, right now, absolutely everything that I wanted. Car has automatic everything, including a remote keyless entry. Car has just about the same gas mileage as the lumina thought it gets better mielage on the highway. Car's engine looks to be easy to work on as it is a V-6 3.1L. So far, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable car that will get you to what you need to go.

ProsPerformance, respetable fuel economy, quiet cabin. Conssome cheap-like materials inside the car, high depretiation.

An American Car With An European Engine — No as refined as its other competitors as the camry or accord, the overall impression is fair for the price. The cabin is quiet enough and the controls are not impressive but modest. The 3.1 engine performance is the strong point in this car. The ergonomics are good.
