Looks fantastic, drives and handles well and is very reliable

Cons

When things go wrong (very seldom), it usually costs more than $1,000 to repair it.

Fun And Reliable Drive — I have owned my 2003 X5 4.6is since new. I don't have any complaints about this vehicle. It is fun to drive and very little has gone wrong with it. BMW builds a very robust product with the intent for the vehicle to last a long, long time. I have approximately 160,000 km on it now and it still drives like new.

Pros

A pleasure to drive.  Deep metallic green paint is gorgeous.  Great looks, comfort, visibility, and reliability.  Synthetic oil; change only once a year.  Superior craftsmanship.

Cons

Gas mileage could be better -- only gets 20 -21 mpg on highway; 15 in town.  Dealer replacement of altenator was costly.

Want To Always Drive A Bmw! — Like the fact it looks almost new, even at 8 years old. The paint reflects like a mirror, and the leather is soft and comfortable. Dealer's care is supreme, but not cheap. Dealer's service department looks as clean as a showroom.

Overall Great Driving Car - Year Round, Sumer, Winter.... — Performance - very good and a strong performer. Build Quality - German design and quality very good. Great interior, quality build throughout the car. Appearance - great looking car in and out. Cost of ownership - low. Normal service, nothing major. Fun car to drive.

Fast Suv — It is our fastest SUV as of now. It can blow the doors of almost any car on the road today although it sacrifices ride quality for performance. Never the less, its a great car for those spirited drives in the countryside.

Bmw With A "take All" Attitude. — A nicely aging all-around SAV. Great high performance utility vehicle - fun to drive, quality built and very versatile daily driver. No issues whatsoever outside of the normal wear and tear. Cost of ownership is moderate relative to its intended use and design.

2003 Bmw X5 4.4i — Performance is great. Build quality is also great. It's a gorgeous car. It consumes a lot of gas. It can give a regular cost for luxury cars. It's a fun car to drive. Overall this car is the ultimate driving machine.

Pros

BMW stands behind their cars with their warranty package and no maintenance for the first 50,000 miles.  No one else does that!

Cons

I don't have any bad news to report on the X5

Good Vibs For Bmw — Probably one of the most comfortable car I have ever owned with the toughness of an SAV. No rattles or squeaks, no major repairs of any kind. It handles great and it is fun to drive. When I wash it, it looks brand new.

Bmw X5 4.4 - Best Car I Have Ever Owned! — Lots of Power for get up on the highway, quick off the line. Very satisfied with the ride and handling characteristics of the vehicle. Its almost like having a rocket ship. For an SUV with all wheel drive, this car is the real deal! Am looking to buy a brand new one soon!

Sweet Ride — This truck is great. Power is amazing for a SUV. Plus it presents like no other in 2003. I bought it used with about 160000 kms and drove for 20000kms without any problems.Anybody looking to buy one. its a big gas guzzler but its all worth it. When you press that gas pedal it feels like a sports car not a truck that is about 4000 pounds.
