The LX was the base model of the 2002 Mazda 626, but it came well-equipped, with power windows and doors, air conditioning, and a CD player. The engine is a 2.0-liter, 130 horsepower four cylinder. Fuel economy is about 22/28 mpg.
Most drivers are satisfied with their 2002 626s, saying the interior is roomy and comfortable, it handles well, and is fairly reliable. Many drivers wish for more power, and some owners of the automatic have had the transmission fail.
