Proshandling, braking, price, utility Consnoise level, fuel economy, interior quality, seating
115
After Three And A Half Years, I Still Like This One A Lot — Auto transmission shifting is a little uncertain at times. Peppy 2.7L V-6, likes to rev., needs to rev for power. Fuel economy less than expected. Overall fuel consumption (kept track of every tank since purchase) is 24.6 mpg. Braking is first-class, acceleration is adequate, handling is the best of any vehicle owned so far. Has a few squeaks and rattles with 155K on the odometer. Paintwork is not great. Fun to drive. Interior is a lower quality than 1994 Ford Explorer Limited. Driver seating is not great (I need more leg room). Visibility is great. Instruments and stock sound system are good. Motor and tire noise higher than expected but not terrible. Have had to spend on brakes, exhaust, timing belt in the last 3.5 years. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsCheap, Good Looking, Reliable, Fast ConsAir Conditioner Problems, Alternator in the Wrong Place

Santa Fe Fun — I like the car a lot! The only problems are that you're Air Conditioning is bound to break. Also, the Alternator is on the bottom of the car. This is no big deal unless you live near the beach. I live in Hawaii so of course I have to drive through salt water puddles sometimes. Doing this, however, will and did fry the Alternator. Fresh water, no problem, salt water will do it though. Other than that, it has been very reliable, it looks great, and it accelerates quickly with the sport shift. It's a great car to win over the person who was never too keen on SUV's. Also, the price is great. I bought a 2002 model in 2005 with 60K miles and I bought it from a dealer for about 10,500.

ProsI love how this suv looks and drives!! My baby is smooth as silk with turns and acceleration.I never have to worry if I will get past the truck or whatever ! ConsI guess the broadness of the hood could be a tad shaved down for the small drivers, creates an extra look to make sure you" clear things" in tight spots.

All Good.. — I love this vehicle so far , I bought it used ,it was well maintained from the previous owner...that helps...at 130,000 miles , It brakes and handles smoothly...I got it inspected before I bought it by lemon squad.com. they go where you want to buy a car and look at it for you inspect it ,all for 150. so i didnt get the other one I was looking at...but mine is great. ProsCHEAPEST CAR TO INSURE! A++ lol, fabric interior a PLUS.. winter weather + leather = very cold mornings while you wait for the heat to kick in! Conscan't do TV style.. turning corners at top speed b/c you might flip over.. the nice little sticker on your visor reminds you of that, personally i hated looking at the car from the front, the curves looks cartoonish but i have grown to accept this SUV like a mother with an ugly child lol

Great & Economical Suv Mpg 19+ Higher Than The Average - Staljo — Jo from StalJo Music bought this car as a downgrade in an effort to save money and reduce expenses. i bought this mid size SUV because it was one of the top mpg in highway milage and i hit the road alot. although people around me that claimed to be car saavy warned me about cheaper cars.. i have put many miles in this car .. close to 280,000. only problem i had so far was a leaking hose valve which costed me 300 to fix by a local mechanic. www.staljo.com Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsVery low maintenance costs since my husband bought it brand new in 2002. ConsI think it's ugly. lol My husband likes it though.

Great For People Who Don't Know How To Check The Oil...lol — Since my husband bought this vehicle in 2002, I think he's only had to do the regular maintenance on it. Nothings ever broken, just the normal wear and tear. I don't know a whole lot because my husband won't let me drive it! It's his only, apparently. lol Primary Use: Commuting to work

2002 Hundai Santa Fe Gl — Good, not great, accelleration. Excellent braking and handling. It has not needed and repairs, with no squeaks or rattles. Alittle nosiy on the freeway. Looked fantatisic and was fun to drive. Mileage was great for an SUV at around 20-21 mpg. Very low maintenance. Primary Use: Family transportation

Awesome Vehicle — Well made. Engine is very quiet, and the computer controlled 4WD comes in handy during heavy rain. Fuel mileage is very good, as well as the acceleration, even when carrying cargo. The SUV is very fun to drive, and is low maintenance. I feel very safe driving this vehicle. Thumbs Up.
