ProsThe color! ConsNo turbo

Ford Taurus — Very good family car. Great on long trips. We have just over 100,000 miles and it almost all original except for brakes and tires. Well made car I'd recommend to anyone. The only major complaint is that I'd like it to have more power, although it does get 30 to 32 mpg. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsComfortable, Safe, and Reliable ConsNot fun unless you get the stronger engine

Reliable, Safe, And Comfortable. The Pros Outweigh The Cons — The Performance is average. Its not really made to race, its more of a family car. The build quality is great, everything works and is still running strong with only minor repairs. I love the appearance, its a very unique shape and very safe design. The gas mileage is good for a heavy 6 cylinder sedan, the maintenance is very regular. This car is not fun at all to drive. Its a cruiser, its made to get places comfortably not quickly. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsRoomy, enough horsepower to comfortably travel freeway, decent gas milage, smooth ride ConsMiss the turning radius of my corsica, but otherwise none to speak of so far.

Just Look How Many Are On The Road, Enough Said! — Performance - 3.0 V6 has get up and go without the problems some of the 3.8 had. Build - Electric mirrors are broken, but I think that is a fairly silly feature anyway. Cost - Paid 6k for a 7 year old car with just over 100 thousand miles on it. Gets about 26 MPG consistently (even the way I drive). Compared to my old Corsica, this thing is a luxury car. My college roommate drives a 2002 Subaru Outback (stick-shift). We tend to use his car for short fun hops and mine for freeway trips. Love this car, would buy another one in a heart beat if some jerk slams into this one.

ProsThe Duratech engine delivers good power. Fuel milage is just OK. Comfortable front seats. Has been reliable with only normal upkeep. ConsRide quality in the rear seat is only fair. Brakes are not as responsive as other Fords I have owned.

Good Quality Car For What We Paid For It 9 Years Ago. — It's been a good car, my wife is the primary driver & she likes it. Does go through a battery about every 2.5 years. We have had it for 9 years, It currently has 128,000 miles and everything still is in working order.

Third Taurus — This is our third. We bought a 88 new, then replaced it with a year old 95 in late 96. We bought the 02 from the dealer rental car fleet and it's been a very good car. Currently using as my "salesman's car" and has clocked just over 86,000 miles to date.

Proshandles great, ABS brakes are great, along with traction control Consgas mileage

My Blue Machine — Performance is ok, accelerates and brakes great, handles well, hasn't needed any repairs as yet, but has an electrical issue I need to have looked at, hopefully not too catastrophic, look pretty good, but I like sportier styles, no repairs so far but gas mileage is what you'd expect for a 6 cylindar (not great). It drives pretty good and it kicks ass in the snow, 10 times better than any car I have ever owned, Love that! I would reccomend this for a commuter car, not for a fun car.

My Blue Machine — The acceleraton and braking are great, handles well, has some electical issues that I'm going to have checked out soon, hopefully nothing too catastrophic, looks ok, but could be sportier, gas mileage is what you'd expect for a 6 cylindar(not great), but this car has so far kicked ass in the snow, 10 times better than any car I have ever owned! Love that! I would reccomend this car for a commuter, not necessarily for fun.

Its A Sport!!! — I have driven Taruses all of my life for a daily drivers. They never need any work, on my old one I only needed to put in about $700 in major repairs in about 10 years that I owned it. And this one has never let me down, so I love it. And not to mention that it is a really comfortable car. |
