My F-150 — This truck is just like my 1997 F-150, very dependable, decent gas mileage for a truck. Just add gas. We have even taken some road trips in this regular cab truck with me, wifey, and kid it was not overly comfortable, but not too bad.

Pros

*Powerful* motor, and good fuel economy for the amount of power! Comfortable ride, quiet, and nice amount of cargo space. Handling/steering is very nice. Tows a trailer with small tractor, or boat with considerable ease. Good traction in inclement circumstances, even without 4 x 4 engaged.

Cons

Fuel economy could be better, but so is the case with all trucks. We have averaged 19ish mpg on long, leisurely drives.

'02 F-150 Xlt Ext. Cab 4 X 4: Good Investment — As of 9/2014: Purchased with 49k miles on it, and close to hitting the 100k mile mark on odometer. There have been no major mechanical problems with this truck, just regular wear and tear. Oil and filters changed religiously (not synthetic), and belts, etc., as needed. K&N air filter installed at time of our purchase; cleaned as recommended by K&N. Body/paint has held up well, even though normally not parked under any cover. Some 'fuzzing' of seat covers, but otherwise have proven very durable. Dash, console, etc., holding up well. It's not a daily driver; it is used for hauling and hunting, and as an extra vehicle as needed. Would buy this particular one again, and no qualms about heading off on a long trip in it!

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

My Truck — After my Dad bought a new car, this became my secondary car. It is now threatening to overtake my primary car because of how great this truck feels. Handling is amazing, power is great, and the muffler announces my presence 3 blocks away.

All Around Great Perfomance Truck — I like everything about this truck, it runs great and 4 Wheel Drive works wonderful with you are need of it. I would rather have a CD FM/AM radio then the stander tape deck that came in this vehicle from factory...

2002 Ford F150 Xlt Fx4 — I bought the truck before I had kids and loved it. I still love the truck, but I need something with a little more room. The 5.4 has plenty of power for pulling boats, wheelers or even smaller campers. Very reliable and reasonable fuel milage.

Cons

spark plug problem

Truck Issues — blows spark plugs out like missiles... thats the only bad part about this truck... was a great truck, never have had one problem other than the defective cylinder heads they put on these trucks. I would not buy another ford again just because of this issue. Would not recommend this to a friend..
