Explorers. — Performance: In the time I've been driving my Explorer, it's performance has been quite excellent (To my standards, atleast.) It's braking, acceleration and handling are rather superb, especially for stock components. Build Quality: Only issue with 2002 Explorers as far as build quality is the rear panel, just underneath the rear window, has a reputation to crack just enough to notice, but repairing this part is futile, as it will only break again. Appearance: The Explorer's appearance has always been a welcoming sight among motorists. The only appearance issue I have with my Explorer is it's default rim's are a bit dull, both in design and color. But nothing some work time and cash can't fix. It's a matter of personal choice. Cost of Ownership: As far as I can tell, the Explorer's MPG is decent atleast, especially for me, who's primary use for the vehicle is picking up the lady, driving to class, going to the station and responding to emergencies. As far as fun factor, yes is all I have to say. It will be great once I can mount whacker lights and a radio onboard. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Ok Vehicle — powerful, do not like the four wheel drive , gets 14 miles per gallon lots of extras such as 6 disk cd player, memory seat, memory gas and brake pedals, brakes fast and can go very quick very solidly built by ford Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I Love My Exploder! — Love it because it's a gas guzzling anti green cruisin' machine! The height of luxury, heated leather seats, auto box, cruise...I'm King of the Road Oh, and the Rotty loves all that space in the back too Only drawback is the gas mileage, flippin' terrible, the price you pay for a bit of comfort I guess...

ProsFits alot of people with plenty of leg room, for as big as it is gets good gas milage15-20 ConsNot good for people used to small cars

Good Car For A Big Family — I liked it but my now ex-wife thought is was to big. She was used to small cars like Pontiac Grand Ams. I liked the leg room in any of the seven seats. Great for children. Would be good for the PTA or soccer Mom scenarios, if room for extra children was needed.

Awesome Suv — The Explorer is one of the best-selling SUVs for a reason! They are built Ford Tough and can handle everything, not to mention a luxurious ride. If you buy one used, they can be very cheap. Gas can be a pain, but overall, I love this truck! Great choice for an SUV
