Was Fun While It Lasted! — Sebring WAS doing fine up through about 129,000 miles, then suddenly the engine started knocking really bad and then died. We needed to replace the engine for about $4000 or we could scrap the car. We ended up scrapping the Sebring and bought a 1998 Chevy Malibu beater until I could save enough for another and newer car. Still trying to save today. Since we got rid of the Sebring I found out there is a class-action lawsuit being filed against Chrysler on behalf of those owners of Chrysler's 2.7L V6 engine which resides in MANY of their vehicles. There seems to be a design flaw with the engine that creates sludge, even when oil changes are done regularly, and causes the engine to seize like our did.

Its A Fun Car, And I Miss It — she had great acceleration, and good handling. the gas milage is around 22mpg when i dove her. maintenance wasn't bad i had to replace a hose that dry rotted, but she wasn't really drove before i owned her. it was a beautiful color when it was washed and waxed.

Allot Of Road Noise And Many Nuisance Problems — Allot of road noise particularily at higher speeds. The tires wear out quicker than they should. At 100,000 KM on 3rd set of tires. Car vibrates when braking, no fault found by dealer. Window seals don't seem to fit properly. A/C Heater fan operates only at high speed. This is apparently a common problem but chrysler is ignoring it.

I Love My Car — Its beautiful, its has very good performance, it accelerates very quickly, handles well, and it stops a lot faster than other cars on the road, it has needed minimal repairs after the 40,000 miles i have had it. it is easily kept clean inside and out. it gets an average of 28 MPG on the highway and 20 in town, and its very fun to drive

Love May Car — Over all the quality should have been better for the money. I am the original owner and love the car. Car looks like new, but after thousands of dollars in front end work the car still has noise in the front end. I would buy another one because it seats 4 people and ample trunk space.

Pros

Sharp looking car with comfortable seats and a decent rear seat. Peppy engine with good torque and excellent fuel economy. Ecxellent Harmon Kardon sound system with multi CD changer. This car has been carefully maintained with particular emphasis on keeping clean oil in the engine and keeping it garaged to keep the paint good. Putting the top up and down is easy!

Cons

Rear view visibility with top up is poor. You lose some storage space as the car needs room to stow the top. Car requires clean oil as sludge problems have been reported. These mechanical problems have lowered the resale values so you need to check the maintance records if you buy one. I also think it could use a stiffer suspension for performance but Chrysler designed this car for non enthusiasts- i.e to be beautiful and comfortable, have power and look good. It's not for cranking around hairpin turns at speed!  If you want to change your oil every 8000 miles forget it!

Fun In The Sun And On Summer Nights — A convertible is fun and I actually like it on balmy summer nights as much as in the day. It feels a little more vunerable than a big truck or SUV and I find myself more aware of cars around me- especially when the top is down. The engine is very smooth and the car is light and peppy with outstanding fuel economy. I think the handling is a little soft to my taste but my other cars are Subaru's and Acura's. The car has been criticized for reliability issues so make sure you can verify that the oil has been changed!

Pros

- nice looking car, sporty with good handling characteristics

Cons

- it's poorly engineered with it's 2.6l V6 DOHC:
- not designed well for repairs: fuel pump is in the gas tank, battery inside the front bumper, another repair had to have the engine jacked up inorder to access and repair an inexpensive part.
- engine in this car is poorly designed and usually only lasted for about 200k.

The Newer Ones Loose It's Only Benefit Which Was Looks. — good car, but poorly designed for everyday use and repairs. It's low slung design didn't suit boat launches, but it handles extremely well. It was bought used as a stopgap to avoid buying 2 new cars in one year. Thanks

Absolutely Love This Car. More Than Any Other Car I Have Ever Even Driven(in The Summer At Least) — the performance is outstanding for a car placing out less than 250HP.. although i think mine is probably pushing close to that now. build quality is mechanically sound. perfectly sound. although my front bumper cracked quite easily haha. the appearance is like sex. i just want to sit and stare at it all day long :). cost of ownership is LOW LOW LOW, im getting 30+ mpg in the summer and around 25mpg in the winter. FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN!
