A Great All Around Vehicle — I drive a 02 s-10 extreme with a 4.3 V6. It has quite a bit of power for a small pickup truck, im satisfied with the performance on it. It is 5 speed manual, and is a blast to drive, it could use a little more power but for a first car it is perfect all around. It has style, performance, comfort, and its a good time.

S10 Crew — Good performance with decent acceleration . A little more sluggish and slower on the brake now that it is lifted and has bigger tires but still handles great. Very solid build and appearance even though my bed space is limited with four doors. Gas mileage isn't great but it is right in the middle around 16-17 mpg. Tons of fun great for offroading can take abuse and keep going.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Best First Truck I've Ever Owned — I've had my truck for almost 2 years now and I have had nothing but trouble out of the thing. Changing the oil is one of the most dawnting tasks to preform. The oil filter is at such a weird position, its almost impossible to get to. The truck is a little weak in the performance area but it is after all a 4 cylinder. It does sound however like a beast. Gas milage isn't that bad if you have clean fuel lines unlike me. I was driving on 3 cylinders for awhile and only getting 9 mpg. The interior is actually spacious and this is coming from a 6'2 guy. The S-10 is a highly customizable car with millions of ways to do it. I've had numerious problems with the e-brake but it does help if the people install it right the first time. The ride is smooth, handling is pretty good. It preforms pretty amazing off-road for a 2WD. Its cheap and easy to maintain (besides changing the oil filter) but you'll have to do it often.

2002 4.3l 5 Speed S10 — If your taller than six foot get an extended cab. The only choice for the engine is the V6. The exterior of S10 is nice and simple. If you want to spend some cash you can customize this truck to make it look one of a kind.

Pros

Easy to drive, comfortable and safe. Good braking and handling for rear wheel drive.
With a Chevy, easy to maintain. Mechanics know it well.

Cons

The gas mileage is probably fine, in the 20's, but that's too low for me.

Classic, Light Duty Pickup. The Kind Of Of Truck Detroit Knows How To Build — Good solid truck. Can haul heavy loads when needed and can fit a surprising amount of stuff in that small bed. Computerized system alerted me to some small problems before they became large. Needs to be better on gas if its so small. I would hold onto if I was keeping my carpentry business.

A Great Truck For Just Having Some Fun. — Overall I have to say i love my truck, even its stock configuration performs very well, I think that chevy should have made all of there trucks Posi Rear end though. having a uni-wheel sucks in the winter, accelerates pretty fast but the brakes could use some tuning. Very solid built truck that has the nice power of a 4.3L vortec pushing out just over 200HP on a light frame makes a fun ride. very nice looking trucks as there is a lot of work you can do here and there to make it even more beautiful.

Way Too Fast. — This truck has a 4 cylinder engine with a turbo pushing 20 pounds of boost. No repairs ever needed. No dents of scratches the interior is in excellent shape. It has 111,000 miles on it and it is not a fun truck to drive bc it will not stay on the road.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
