2002 Monte Carlo Ss — Bought the car brand new and have loved it ever since. The performance is good but could be better it accelerates great, brakes well, and handles like a dream. The only thing i have done is replace the turn signal switch, replaced the battery, and changed oil regularly. I love the leather interior and the bright yellow paint job. The gas mileage is great usually between 25-30 when keeping my foot out of it. The car is great for taking out on the town on the weekends to have fun in and race people.

ProsGood styling, large trunk, great stereo. Sunroof is a nice touch. 3800 engine has always been a reliable performer. ConsSure would have liked a V8.... but that's just me. Heck, it has dual exhaust, spoiler, the styling, just 1 more little step and voila.... done.

They Made It Work For Nascar, Why Not Us? — I have loved Monte Carlos since they 1st appeared as the 70's monsters. Lost my love during their identity crisis, especially in the early 80's. Then this 6th gen my folks bought, to my surprise, won me back. I just live in this fantasy world of rumble and roar, hoping that smoke will once again bellow from those rear wheels allowing me to do a proper burnout..... Powerful V6, I'd Buy It Again If I Had The Option. — Great car, its one of 1150. 2002 pacecar edition. Got a strong V6 and I put in a performance chip and a super charger, and is at about a 14 second quarter mile. Overall the car has a great sound for a V6. Primary Use: Commuting to work
