2002 Acura MDX Overview
In its sophomore year on the luxury SUV market, the 2002 Acura MDX saw few changes. The base engine remained a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 240 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. The interior retained its plush leather feel, complete with what some consider to be excessive wood trim.
The width of the 2002 MDX remains quite wide, at 77 inches. When driving this SUV, be sure to keep a close eye on those around you...not much room for error when your car is over 6 feet wide.
The drive is quite smooth, and drivers love its combination of luxury and off-road capability. Some criticize the mileage estimates, reporting that it gets well under the advertised 17/23 city/highway. Of course, the problem is that the engine feels peppy enough to make you want to floor it at times, which burns a lot of gas. =)
