Good Dependable Small Truck. — This has been a good truck all around, mine has over 200K on it and still going good. I still get complements on it's looks. Find that I wish it had a taller overdrive gear. Nissan charges way to much for their parts but after markets are becoming very available. It tends to be a bit nose heavy, it is a pickup, 200lbs of sand bags in the bed make it very drive-able. Changing the #6 plug is insane, some engineer should be slapped.

My Truck — I love the truck, but I want more power in it! Other than that it is a great running machine! It has plenty of space for me to pick up my son when I have him. It carries 5 people. Run's well, but could have a better gas mileage. Seems to be rusting quite a bit though.

01 Frontier, Like Not Love — Just okay. Not great. reliable but with some cheap aspects. Really needs more low end grunt. Handles poorly. Wish it had cruise control. It was a great value at $13.5k. Fuel economy is pretty good when empty, but a marked decline when there is anything in it. It has done almost everything I've asked of it, but has never been a great vehicle. Its not a vehicle that I get into everyday and say to myself "nothing could be better."

Pros

Great truck.  Definitely would recommend the Nissan Frontier, unless you're towing more than a jetski or hauling loads requiring a full-size truck.

Cons

Not too much.  Not great in deep, non-packed mud or snow, but it does ok for a 2wd.

2001 Nissan Fronter (10 Years Down The Road) — I've now had this truck about 10 years and I love it. It's assisted in over 10 moves (4 of me to and from college), hauls firewood yearly, hauls tools;dirt;gravel and anything else necessary for my home improvement projects. I even recently hauled a half cubit yard of gravel in it (though I'll probably never have that much weight in it again). For a 4 cylinder (2.5 L), it's got good power and great mileage (lightweight truck). Brakes are good. I've even had it down plenty of trails and off road. It's done great (for a 2wd). Only things I've had to replace are the battery (2006, now an Optima battery) and the catalytic converter (2010).

Love It — performance- acceleration could be better, brakes the best, handling really good even in the ice. build quality- good except for the plastic parts but good in general appearance-this is how i fall for this car cost of ownership- except when gas is high normal fun factor the best four year of my life

My Nissain — it has the 3.3L v6 with the automatic transmission. i overhauled the engine at around 150,000 miles. the transmission need to have a sift valve replacement. right now it will rev high and some times lag the sift from 2nd to 3rd. i found out the truck would kill the engine at 95 mph. instaled a scanner/programer and reprogramed the ecu to forget that. 2.75 inch exhaust with magnaflow high flow cats and summit racing mufflers. k&n cold air intake.i always give it a tune up every 25,000 miles or 4 months depending on driving conditions.i had to replace the factory suspencion with KYB gas shocks, and deaver leaf springs out back and coils up front. i replaced the upper and lower a-arms and all the bushings up front as well when i installed new brake rotors. it still makes the classic nissian truck turning grind or creacking sound, but not as bad. right now i have 31 inch geolander all terrains on it. they are ok. the truck is silver and dark gray but that fadded over time. not the best on gas only mybe 320 miles to a tank depending on the stuation. around town it kinda sucks but ok on highways. confortable front seats and if your cramed into the back im sorry. im impressed with how it handles offroad when im slamming it around or even jumping it. never got it stuck yet but almost hydrolocked it once. used it to pull a jeep out of an offroad park then used my bumper to push on the spare tire of the jeep and pushed it about 50 miles back home. so shes a good work horse and can still play on the weekends. i have loaded 3 dirt bikes, gear bags, and other things for a riding weekend and it still pulled up a grade.

6-Disc changer, bed extender, looks great, nice to drive.

Cons

gas mileage, backseat room, power.

Good Small Truck, Turns Heads — The Nissan Frontier is by far the best compact truck you can buy. My 2001 SE-V6 Model is great. It has a good engine, its not the most powerful but it gets the job done. It is a good looking truck as well, and can get the job done. The only regret is that is doesn't have 4WD or a supercharger. While the power is good nissan made a supercharged version that made 40 more horsepower, which would be nice. Gas mileage is terrible, driving conservatively i get 17 or less. The interior is also spacious but the backseat is not.

Great Truck — I've owned my truck for 9 months and other than the lack of leg room for the back seat passengers it's a great vehicle.
