Lots Of Potential — 5.3L V8 + shift kit + posi trac = a good time. lots of acceleration and little body role. clear coat is peeling and slight body damage. interior is in great condition. prolly gets 13 mpg in town and 18 mpg on the highway. i'm running synthetic oils, duralast ceramic brake pads, and just had my tranny rebuilt. running goodyear tires, all around tire...like to get lose at 2 grand. all in all its a blast to drive. hard to beat american muscle. Primary Use: Commuting to work

My Z-71 — I love my truck, I traded in a 2000 Honda Civic in on it. The ride is great, decent gas mileage. Good get up and go, handles great in mud, and on the road. Feels very safe would love to have been the first owner of it. My kids love it and so do their friends my wife hates driving it so I know it was be mine and she will not borrow it and return it without gas and dirty. It is a Z71 edition and is fully loaded. I love my heated seats when it is cold out. | ||

2001 Chev. Silverado Thunder — Little weak on the acceleration but otherwise a great truck. Has stood the test of time. Just starting to bubble rust on the rear wheel wells which isn't a surprise and very repairable. Would be nicer with some way to organize the backseat as opposed to everything just rolling around. | ||

ProsTall, so you can see over most other traffic. Smooth. Comfortable. Sexy, in it's black & chrome. ConsDidn't have the worlds greatest turning radius... but, part of it could have been the extended cab length of the truck.

My Favorite! — It was my favorite "car" ever! And I used to buy/trade every 2 years or so. With a history rich in Cadillacs, Toyotas, etc., this truck was simply my cowboy Cadillac. [grins] I so miss it. Would have kept it but sadly, it was a lease. Had to go. | ||

2001 Chevy Siverados Are The Way To Go — This is honestly a good truck all except the tranny the 4L60E does not las as long as it should other then that its a good hard working truck it has the style without the lack of horse power the 327 vortex V8 will last as long as you take care of it... And coming from me what I have put this two wheel drive threw it shouldn't be running but its still strong it was and still is ahead of its time Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) | ||

ProsI got the Z71, great in snow. very dependable. I've had it 10 years, 200K miles, replaced plugs,wires,hoses, fuel pump, starter and alternator, cam seal,but engine and tranny still great Cons14mpg, little rough on the potholes

Excellent, Runs Great With 200k Miles — extended cab is great, I got the LT model, heated leather seats are great. Z71 off road 4x4 great in the snow, I could not get stuck in 3 foot drifts from a complete stop. best truck I've owned. period Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

ProsI has 2 12s and deck. 4" lift 35" mud tires and its black Consride is a little bumpy since whoever had it before put body lift on it and not suspension lift.
