2001 Chevrolet Lumina 4 Dr STD Sedan Review
Prosexcellent gas mileage, drives well even in windy conditions, still looks new at 8 years old Constransmission died at approximately 150,000 miles, spark plugs are difficult to get at (but not impossible), now has problems with catalytic converter

Chevy Lumina (4-door Sedan) — At first, acceleration was good. It needs a tune-up now, but still does a fairly good job getting started. It handles and brakes (not breaks) well. I had to have a transmission replaced after driving it for about 6 years and so far that's help up well. The car gets very good gas mileage for being a mid-sized car and is easy to maintain thus far. It's been fun to drive as well.

ProsCar was not taken care of as far as maintenance, but motor still sounds good and runs well with the amount of miles (130k) it has. ConsSeems like the turn signal should have had a recal.

Rate 6.5 Out Of 10. If Taken Care Of Maybe A 7 — Like its a chevy. Dislike the fact it was designed to have parts be purchased quite frequently. Dislike how the simple things are hard to maintenance. Dislike the electrical system layout. Like the way the engine runs when tuned up properly

Prosgreat car would recomend, has a good rep and looks very nice Cons4 speed auto should be replaced which 6 speed auto as it gains more umph

Lumina Say Now More — good car, the base model is underpowered as only has a 4 speed auto, but it moves when needed to, 0-60 is ok but with the 6 speed its 1 second quicker, the acceleration when already moving is great, sports shift really makes a difference, many different little mod cons included in base model which makes a difference, lots of room , but does drink fuel especially when accelerating, somehting like 1/2 mpg , but when cruising ont he motorway you get about 31 mpg which isnt bad for a 3.5 ltr Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsSpace, comfortable seats, and easy to interpret problems. ConsDifficult to get to battery, and some other things in engine.

Chevy Lumina... Good, Reliable.. And Fast! — My lumina works really well, It is very spacious and makes moving easier. The thing that is hard, is the battery and some other things in the hood are a challenge to get to. But it is semi-easy to find things. I would recommend my car to any of my friends. |
