I Love This Car! — Theres not much to dislike and plenty to like how can you ask for more, a avant with room for 5, total sleeper that will take out 997 turbo porsches and you can drive in the snow. Take it to the track on the weekends and drive to work on the week. An amazing car that is very rare and sought after.

Pros

This car has been great.  Even after 11 years, it's still a blast to drive and has plenty of room for four.  The trunk is huge.

Cons

None, really.  Great reliability, great fun, great handling.  Great in ice/snow as well.

German Engineering At Its Finest — I've had this car for 11 years and 150K+ miles, and I've enjoyed virtually every one. it's fun to drive, great traction and handling. I live about 15 miles outside of town, and going to and from work has always been a pleasure.

Pros

Great sounding engine (helps to install an exhaust system), tons of low-end torque, stylish appearance, luxury features in interior, solid handling, AWD is great in winter.  Tons of aftermarket support.

Cons

Nose-heavy means understeer, not good for the track.  Parts are costly.  Stock turbos are not reliable.  Power out of the box a bit lacking.

Great Car For The Enthusiast With Some Spare Funds For Modification Parts. Not A Good "only" Car. — I love the B5 chassis. However, I am an enthusiast who does not mind dumping money into one of these things. They are not incredibly reliable but with some mods this can be improved. The stock power is not really sufficient for a performance car, but there is a huge aftermarket segment devoted to performance modifications. The car's looks and features are great out of the box. Current prices are quite low, making it easy to snag one provided you have extra funding for repairs and mods.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

Insane performance and handling. Great in any weather. Impeccible German quality and comfort. A great car for the price.

Cons

Poor MPG. High insurance rates. tires wear out fast. extremely expensive maintenance costs. Attracts unwanted attention at times.

So Fast, You Have To Adjust Your Thinking — A rare breed of ultra performance and luxury make this one of those rare cars for the true car snob who craves both extreme performance and lavish luxury. Now you don't have to choose. The V6 twin turbo variant of the tried and true A4 sedan delivers thrills where other models failed. No mild mannered Audi, like its predecessor "S" cars, Audi combined potent high output turbocharging and its robust quattro system to give drivers a car that could e driven to the limits in almost any conditions. This is a car that is so fast and at the same time comfortable, you's better be johnny on the spot or risk a quick trip to the pearly gates. With a plush, quiet cabin and all the usual audi niceties, you barely notice you're doing over 100 in a rainstorm!

Pros

Great all-around AWD sports sedan. Quicker than many, more expensive sports cars.

Cons

Well, I suppose the back seat is a little small.

Great, Quick, All - Around Awd Sports Sedan — I love the looks (exterior & interior). This is perhaps the most well-balanced design ever from Audi. Its combination of power (twin turbo V6), AWD and handling make it a sports car that will comfortably carry four. A wonderful, year round classy transporter.

Cons

Love My S4 — + Fast and Bullet proof so far - car is stock. + Stealthy Q car + AWD traction was perfect for the trips to Lake Tahoe in the winter. + It still looks good for a 8 year old car. + Effortless cruiser- it loves the highways and is positively happy above 80 mph - Cramped rear seats - Needs better brakes and suspension to cope with the power Will be keeping it till it dies eventually

Boo Audi — In short, this vehicle isn't a bad car if you don't have to work on it and nothing fails but that is a huge if since they regularly have failures and are built with the most akward parts available to man.

This Car Is The Perfect Package — I absolutely love my 2001 Audi S4! The car currently produces over 360hp and 400ft/lbs of torque thanks to new RS4 turbos and Unitronic tuning file. The car handles just as good in dry conditions as it does in the wet thanks to the Quattro AWD system. Audi has been able to produce a beautiful car that does 0-60 in 4 seconds and has a full leather interior with the S4. It is very comfortable, easy to drive, and can take your friends on the ride of their life! Also, the V6 Twin Turbo engine is a joy to wind up and can bring the car to speeds of over 175mph! This is an amazing piece of engineering. I expect this car to become more collectable over the next few years and I highly recommend picking one up now while the prices are still low.

Cons

Maintinence

Very Good Cheap Daily Driver If You Can Afford The Repairs — Extremely fast this car has torque everywhere in the rev range and it never gets old, good brakes, good handling Very Good build quality. 9 years old and doesn't have a rattle I personally love the look. very conservative. I get 24mpg regularly. I have achieved 31MPG before though. Maintinance has been a killer though. Very expensive repairs. Very fun car to drive everyday

B5 S4! — Love this car. Has just the right mods for me. Stage 1 kit, suspension, 18" summers, 17" winters. Still in great shape at eleven years and 100K+ miles. Timely looks. Great station wagon room, with station wagon stealth value. Fun!
