Cons

Reliability, build quality, low-end torque

2000 Boxster S — Love the steering feel: lots of feedback coming through the steering wheel Engine pulls strong after 4000 RPMs only Transmission throws too long Brakes are fantastic and not overboosted like 99% of cars Balance is excellent and when the back breaks loose it does so very progressively Reliability is average

Pros

Great handling and balance.

Cons

Interior plastic wears easily.

Amazing German Engineering — An eight year old car with 100K miles that still runs like new! It's small enough to be fun to drive but big enough inside for a 6'-2" driver. This one will be in the family until the wheels fall off.

Pros

Great handling. Great brakes.

Cons

Expensive to maintain. Lot's of little stuff kept breaking and the dealer wouldn't have the parts in stock, so it would mean repeat trip to fix the problem after the parts arrive.

Really Fun To Drive - When It Isn't Broken — The car responds like a Porsche. Very few cars drive and feel this way, provide this level of performance and still remain comfortable. Too bad the car kept breaking with little stuff and add in a really crappy dealer experience in Buffalo NY, it wasn't worth keeping.

Pros

Speed, Handling, steering feedback, and best of all, the engine sound. It is just fun to drive at any speed.

Cons

Although it is great on gas for what it is, it requires premium gas. No back seats is the other con.

Best Used Sports Car You Can Buy Under $12,000. — This car is nearly perfect. It is comfortable for daily driving. It has lots of trunk space with the 2 trunks. It is good on gas for a high end sports car. It is quick and fun to drive. It is one of the best handling cars of the 90's and early 2000's. And it sounds amazing. The only thing I really wished for was usable back seats. It has been a very reliable car for me. And parts and insurance prices are suprisingly cheap for it.

Crown Jewel Of Sports Cars — This car is great. A real head turner wherever I go. It has great features and great handling on the road. I'm only selling mine to upgrade to something larger. This is still one of the best in the luxury car market.

Pros

Light, fast, nimble and perfectly balanced - everything you would want in a sports car. Porsche quality is also exceptional.

Cons

Only negative is the manual soft top. It does take a few minutes to put the top on, but the car is built to drive topless on sunny afternoons.

This Is A Near Perfect Sports Car For The Enthusiast - — The Boxster Spyder is light, fast, nimble and perfectly balanced - everything you would want in a sports car. Porsche quality is also exceptional. This is a near perfect sports car for the enthusiast. Only negative is the manual soft top. It does take a few minutes to put the top on, but why drive a car like this in bad weather? the car is built to drive topless on sunny afternoons.

the tiptronic box was already a jewel at the time. I am sure the 2012 is even better.

Cons

2 seater...

My Fastest Commute In Hong Kong — The poor-man Porsche is an amazing car to drive. Perfect handling and especially cornering. Hong Kong roads are very hilly and narrow and it was a pleasure to drive there with the Boxter S. Thanks to the great tiptronic box.

Pros

I love the original Boxter look. When Porsche created the Boxter it was meant to evoke the feeling of the Porsche 550 Spyder of the 1950's; light, fast and with handling like its on rails. The Boxter S achieves all those attributes while providing a lot of creature comforts too. Porsche's are all 'bullet proof' and mine has certainly been a gem. It only rests in the garage, it doesn't go there to get fixed!

Cons

It's not as fast as my son's Porsche Turbo. Sometimes a little tricky to get in and out of…especially against a high curb.

It's A Great Little Ride. — The 'S' model of the Boxter is an all-around better car than the base model not only because of the extra engine size, translating to higher horsepower and torque but also because of the bigger brakes and the six speed transmission. Yes, you do give up a minimalist back seat (suitable for the under 8 set) that comes with the 911, but you get a true roadster look and feel in the bargain. Unlike the 911 convertible that, in a pinch, can serve as a family second car, the Boxter S is a full on sports car with no allowances for extra riders. If you want to haul around a bunch of friends or the wife and kids, this is not the car for you. If, however, wind in your hair and an attachment to the road that feels almost physical gets your adrenalin surging and you can manage to ride duo or alone without it causing social pain, this just may be your ultimate ride.

Installed new top with glass ear window and defroster unit in 2007, say goodbye to that old plastic rear window, no more getting out of the car to put the top down!!

Cons

some small scuffs on the right from wheel rim

Great Fun Car To Drive, Good Gas Mileage — If you like to feel you drive and enjoy quick responsive braking, steering and acelerating and shifting then this is the car for you. It can be too much car for people who prefer less road noise and more comfort and less road feel.

It's a porsche!

mpg.   Would have liked to get 30 mpg like a Lotus can do.

Boxster — Definitely a drivers car. Not as hot on the UK's twisty B-Roads as an Elise since the Porsche weighs more. But the performance is still outstanding. Luggage space is HUGE compared with an Elise. Easily fitting 6 bags of groceries in the rear boot and plenty of space left in the front boot too! Surprisingly cheap to run, service intervals are HUGE and service costs low. Tyres, well, maybe expensive but then it's a 160mph car. Realistic mpg is 20 miles to the gallon.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
