I Love It. I Am 17 It Is My Fisrt Car — A mitsubishi eclipse is a great car. My eclipse has 170,000 miles and i have no problems at all. I have 394 horsepower on a 2.4L 4 cylinder and it runs like a champ. Mitsubishi's are amazing i highly recommend them.

Cheap To Maintain Compared To My Vr4 — Great cruiser but never going to be a power house. I finished the body kit, seemles install solid black car. Built the car for my wife an dit gets around fine but cant go through trailer parks, side streets, or anywhere with speed bumps.

I Love It Alot, It's Been Through Much With Me — I fell in love with it when I saw it in 2000. It seems silly to love a car so much but I've taken care of it and it has taken care of me. It kept me safe through a wreck and I'm trying to maintain it over time rather than discarding it, it is a good car.

Pros

Peppy 4 cylinder with good gas mileage.  Handles well, fun to drive!

Cons

Hatchback latch and  lift supports are not functioning any more.  Brakes seem to need rotors trued.  A bit hard to shift first to second.

Fun Little Sporty Car With Good Gas Mileage — I just took over this car from my brother's estate, he used it as a commuter car. We cleaned it up to sell it, found a buyer, and I thought to myself, I would like to own this car at this price! So I bought it myself. Not having had a sporty car for myself for years, I love the 5-speed and good acceleration and handling. It's very comfy and easy to drive, although, at 6 foot 2, I have to duck my head to get into the drivers seat. It's not a Corvette, but it sure is fun, and seems to be very well built. My 2000 RS has 140,900 miles. Another thing that convinced me I should own it, I got it smogged, and the smog pro told me it was so clean it did not even register meaningful smog in the exhaust! Mitsubishi must be doing something right, after 140k miles, to have an engine run that well.

Very Nice Car — love it brought in april of 2011 had to paint it and do several other things to it but like i said love the car the only problem ive had with it the whole time ive had it is that the starter relay went bad so the car wouldnt start but its a 5spd so just rolled it off till i got it fixed. plenty of power for a car that is 13 years old.

Great First Car — Great car. Makes for a great first car too. At 150HP from a 2.4L SOHC, it's decent. A little more power wouldn't have hurt. Its naturally low to the ground, well designed and if given the chance in the future, I would definitely buy one again.

Such a fun car to drive. Great vision out of the large windows. Back seats fold down for more room. This car holds quite a bit and will do you proud on a Costco run.....

Cons

Caution, mini vans love to cut you off - it's jealousy! This has a back seat, but unless you have a tiny frame and short legs, it's not realistic. More for insurance purposes I believe.

Fun Car And Great To Drive. — This V6 has great acceleration. Although it takes premium gas, the mileage is great if you know how to drive a manual transmission. This had been my second eclipse, I had a 1995. Would have bought a 3rd, but did not like the styling on the new ones. Also these cars go well down the road if you treat them well and maintain them the way suggested. Always changed the oil on time and proper maintenance done.

My Car — Awsome car wouldnt want a different one! I put a cold air intake on it full exhaust with megan racing headers to 12in kickers in the back. Aftermarket high heat brake discs. And i also added a performance chip to it.

Sporty Coup With Quick Transmission — This little Mitsubishi is a fun and enjoyable ride built to have a sporty feel and look it will certainly turn heads. Good summer and spring car with a fun sun roof and auto windows makes taking a drive across town fun and breezy. Good starter car for new and young drivers and also has the potential for easy tune ups.
