A Drink Problem!!! — Excellent performance if a little sluggish on the kick down. Fantastic grip in the dry, agile, even though heavy. Fantastic brakes. Terrible grip in the wet, verging on the scary, and I return 15.1 mpg long term average, which is really quite preposterous. Great combination of safety, comfort, with reasonable fun. Generally fairly reliable, but you need to find a specialist independent for servicing - which is no problem in Dorset. Fast family car, still much quicker than 95% of cars on the road, and very cheap to buy if you can afford the insurance and fuel!!! Primary Use: Commuting to work

Buy One. — Love the car... Fast, and goes where ya put her. The luxury options are there, with all the conviences of a BMW or AUDI. The ride is un surpassed and suprisingly it hasnt once left me stranded. Very reliable and is my daily driver!! Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Best Car I Have Ever Owned. — Driving is both smooth and responsive, depending on the Sports mode. 0-60 is about 7 seconds. Revs at just over 2K at the Speed limit so I guess 150 tops. Build quality is great. only problem found is no CD player. | ||

Atrractive, But With Many Flaws. — I dislike my 2000 Jaguar S-Type 4.0 because since buying it in 2003, I've averaged $1200 every 6 months in repair bills. It's a never ending saga. Just when I think I have fixed everything that can break on the car, it all starts again. VERY frustrating and VERY expensive. New catalytic converters, new coil packages (it's on its THIRD set), complete brake assemby replacement on two occasions, transmission work, radiator repair, front-end assembly replacement. Primary Use: Family transportation | ||

Headache!! — Sick of fixing it every couple months. Bad ignition coils CONSTANTLY!! Luckily I fixed the suspension/drivers window/air conditioning/cooling system, before the warranty was up. Now I just have to keep changing the coils ALL THE TIME! I love to drive this car though. I love when people think they can pass me and then I decide to blow right past them. Gas mileage is what you would expect for a 4L V8. Only takes premium gas which sucks. | ||

Cheap As Chips To Buy, But Can Cost An Arm And A Leg To Keep On The Road ! — Had this car for nearly 7 years now, it's a motorway cruiser, 70mph comes in at 2200 rpm, tickover, that will return about 35mpg at 70mph. My model although an SE was shy of a few extras I would have liked, power rear sun blind, parking sensors and sat nav! Looking at the XF next. Managed 0-60 in 7.0 secs via my android app !!! Primary Use: Family transportation |
