It's A Good Deal For The Money. Good Everyday Car. — Performance - has mild acceleration, braking and handling Build Quality - built well, haven't had any squeaks and rattles Appearance - this model tried to look like Ford Taurus :-) Cost of ownership - replaced the clutch and intake oxygen sensor. ($1600). Average gas mileage on highway: 30 mpg, city: 26mpg. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Its Great When Its Not Having Problems — This car is does not have great acceleration at all. Handling is great. It has a nice white pearl color with a sun roof. The gas is not too bad but still not that great. Fun to drive but not a reliable car. Tired of putting money into it to fix it. Primary Use: Family transportation | ||

Decent — It was pretty good for the yr and the condition it was in, especially since it was bought for $500. It was a nice size. I could put a wole dorm room in it however it had HORRIBLE acceleration. The gas mileage was really good and it got me where I needed to go. But besides that, it was a clunker lol. First And Worst. — It's a really pretty car, but I had a lot of problems with mine. It had a tendency to overheat. Mine was a 4-cylinder so the gas mileage was wonderful. It cost like $20 to fill up and I could drive on a tank for about 2 weeks depending on how much I drove. It was really small, yet roomy on the inside. The motor in the window messed up a lot and the battery wouldn't recharge itself sometimes. It was pretty fun to drive because it was so small and easy to maneuver. Primary Use: Family transportation | ||

Love It Cuz It's My Car — I love it cuz it's my car, and u feel so smooth while driving it... but the engine only 2 liter with 137 horse power... and that's not that good, specially it's very heavy... on the road it's very quit and I like driving it, specially in the country's road.... | ||

Great Car - But Beware Of Major Safety Hazard — I've loved my 2000 Sonata for it's reliability. I was bitterly disapponited though when the axle pulled right out of the subframe after getting off a major highway. From what my mechanic says it's a manufacturer problem. The replacement part does not have this problem - but you won't know about the defect until it's too late - please get your car checked out by a reliable mechanic so it can provide you with many more years of service. PS Hyundai has since fixed the problem on it's newer modes, yet has not recalled the 2000 part. Owner for 5 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:10,000 | ||

ProsAmazing handling, great reliability even after its major damage. ConsRadio sucked and was always broken. Not really my style. Not the best MPG but with that V6 engine I was amazed I didn't go broke.

My First Car And It Was Used And Abused — This car was give to me after an accident when it was written off. Yet we only fix the parts that need to be fixed. After about a year the drive-train was really dieing, radio would turn off when you hit a bump, no AC and it stalled at times. It was amazingly still alive and drove pretty well for its faults. Its V6 engine has great acceleration and pick up. Its a really good looking car but just not my style. I still don't know how that car stayed alive for as long as it did. | ||
