Driven Alot Of Cars And This Is Definitely One Of My Favorites!combines Performance,comfort,and Styl — car has a great fit and finish.all controls have a good solid feel.quality materials used that hold up well.styling of the vehicle never seems to date itself,has a sophisticated but sporty look for a four door!they recommend premium gas which does help with performance,but is not necessary.gas mileage is about 28-30 mpg combined driving.repairs are typically slightly higher than the average car,but reliability is worth the little extra!the car is fun to drive and the ride and performance are great.handles like a sports car when you run low profile michelin tires on it.had my maxima for 4 years and replaced the struts,drive axles,and egr valve.thats about it other than regular maintenance.runs smooth,quiet,and strong with 162000 miles! Primary Use: Commuting to work

Just Drive It — Its a great car for commuting, its pretty fun and handles well, yet is practical and comfortable for almost any situation. It is well built, and has good styling (for the time period). Gas is a little annoying, as it only gets 20 mpg as a sedan. Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

My 99 Maxima — This is my second maxima, and I have decided that they are some of the best cars out there. Great mix of performance and practicality...strong, quick engine that is very reliable and gets great gas mileage. Hasn't needed any repairs, and is a very solidly built car. Overall, I love this car and would recommend it to anyone. | ||

The First Car I Haven't Hated. — Classic 4 door styling. A perfectly respectable V6 with torque aplenty. 5 speed = fun; the AT is spotty anyway. Easy to work on, no major repairs have been needed yet. Gas tank is big and it takes at least 92 octane unless you want to change the knock sensor regularly. | ||

Great First Car. — Not a whole lot of bad things i can say about the car. Great looks both interior and exterior. Bose sound system is great, non bose sounds almost as good. Unbelievably quick for only having 190hp and being over 3400lbs. Automatic trans is just OK, would be much more fun to drive with a manual. Ride was good, about what you'd expect from a japanese mid-level sedan. Gas mileage is great, reliability is untouched, only had one thing go wrong with it in the year and a half i owned it, which was a starter and that only cost $200 to replace. Bought it with 120k, sold it with 145k, and it ran just as good the last day as it did the first. This was my first car, so it definitely held some sentimental value for me. | ||

ProsNo car can ever replace my Maximas, they are truely four door sports Cars! ConsWish I had got the ABS option, and with so much power running the front wheels wish the car had traction control also, especially when in wet conditions!

Perfect Combination Of Sport, Comfortability And Fun! — 165,000 Miles and she still runs like she is brand new, the nissan VQ engine is a phenomanon, with just 3 liter the twin cam V-6 is just a dream, the power sometimes even surprises me, punch her and she takes off, drive mellow and she is serene, the only major item I have replaced is the alternator at 150,00 miles, she starts on the first start everytime, check engine light came on once, had to replace one of my direct coils, and that's all the work I've done, had 1987 Nissan Maxima before, had till 200,00 miles and until my brother overheated her and blew the head gasket, 110 deg La heat, 8 highschool kids in the car, A/C full blast, and paying no attention to the temp guage, would have rebuilt the engine if I had the time, The maxima has and will always be the 4DSC, the four door sports car, in my mind Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Decent Sporty Sedan — Good Car has 220k miles on it. Only minor maintenance issues so far. It accelerates quickly has good 40-70 time. So far its been not too expensive on ownership. It is very fun to drive. Don't ever drive it after watching Fast and Furious though. It will want to make you drive mush faster since it has that power and is considered a sport sedan. Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Couldn't Be Happier — Before geting into specifics, car has 250k miles and except for general maintenance have had no issues (and bought w/ 90-100k miles). •Build Quality / •Cost of Ownership - excellent, excellent, excellent. Only negatives - b/c was built as sports car mileage and ease of driving when not in need of tighter / more responsive could be better. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
