Pros

Great connection between car & driver. Real throttle, great manual shifter and transmission. 5 nicely spaced gears. Light weight, easily tossable, quick steering, very maneuverable. Fun city car.

Cons

Not enough headroom with the top up. Chassis needs more bracing (solvable in the aftermarket). A/C zaps limited power on hot days. No cruising gear for the highway.

A Fun Toy You Can Actually Drive Every Day. — I live and work in the city and have enjoyed having this as my only car. Manual transmission is a must. I suppose my next car will probably be a little more practical, but I've managed to fit (on separate occasions) $300 worth of Costco goodies, a set of (4) wheels & tires, and myself and a passenger with enough luggage for a 4-day trip. Hard to imagine a better fun-to-drive value-for-money proposition. Get a Borla dual exhaust. You'll thank me later.

Party In A 1999 — I purchased a Red 1999 Mazda Miata with tan leather interior, Bose sound system, P/W and P/L. It's a great little car. She was just over $5,000 and had just over 60,000 miles on it! All in all it was an enjoyable car to drive. Not as luxurious as some of the other cars I've owned, but if you're looking for an affordable 2 seat convertible, this is the one to look for!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

All Good — I like that it is convertible and drives good it do not cost a lot to put gas in. The bad is that it is so little and not the color I like. but it is so cute love it.

Great Runner... — Enjoyed the warm nights driving through the city, the sounds, smells everything. Nothing like a roadster, enjoyed it for three summers. Bucket list is slowly being crossed off. New York doesn't have alot of great summer nights so the ones that we have must be enjoyed.

Great Sports Car On A Budget — This is a fun car with excellent handling and great styling. What the 1999 miata lacks in power it makes up for it in all the other values and performance traits. There are many clubs, forums and events that add to the fun of owning a miata, but the best part about owning a miata is driving it!

Miata 1999 — This is my second Miata (first one was a 1991 British Racing Green with tan leather interior). This one is the dark blue metallic with tan leather interior and tan convertible top. Miatas are amazing cars to drive and they are one of the most reliable cars on the road. I never get tired from getting the "thumbs up" and hearing "Nice Car" from people on the street.

The Most Fun You Can Have For $4k — The A/C is week, but still strong enough to affect acceleration. Otherwise, I love it. It's cheap to own, fun to drive, and the top goes down, or up, before the traffic light turns green. I need a new set of tires, but I've been having too much fun sliding around corners. Maybe I change them soon.

Love The Car Overall. — I like its fun to drive factor and its reliability. The car has the basic maintenance needs of a 14yr old car but is mechanically sound. It starts everyday and has never been abused or raced and is a great daily commuter.

Pros

This car has been extremely fun and the maintenance costs have not been high.

Cons

Mileage sucks after adding the turbo and larger injectors.  I need to get it back into the shop to have the Hydra Nemesis 2.7 ECU tuned better.

An Absolute Blast To Drive — I've had this Miata for several years. It started out awesome, but under powered. After quite a bit of deliberation I took the leap and purchased an entry level turbo kit from Flyin Miata. The Voodoo II. That was fun, but the engine management of that system left me with something to be desired. After a few years with that kit, a few years sent overseas in Japan, and my dog eating some wiring in the car when it wasn't tucked away, I decided to upgrade to bigger injectors, updraded clutch, new ECU, lightened flywheel. Since those mods, the car has been all the more entertaining. Quite an enjoyable car.
