A Real Sports Car — Always prefer coupe version like me, it is a classic. great engine. It looks gorgeous and it will never get old. that makes it special. maybe a six gear box makes it much better car, but there is not any.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

True sports car tradition, yet safe and reliable.

Cons

Not teutonic enough due to poor chassis rigidity.  Parts bin car.

M Roadster - A True Classic Sport Roadster, But Marginal Bmw. — This was my 2nd BMW (after a '94 325i Cabriolet) and I was somewhat disappointed by its fit & finish and overall sophistications. BMW did not spend much in R&D to come up with this chassis as they are not sure about the future of 2 seater roadsters. The semi-trailer arm rear suspension was derived from an older generation of 3 series cars, and had caused some serious white knuckle moments (ie. unintended spin outs, etc.). The interior was well executed, despite having employed, again, parts from older 3 series. The chassis, even with the open top configuration was taken into consideration, was lacking in rigidity when harnesing the 240 hp from the 3.2L S series engine. Rear wheel hop was common occurance when attempts were made to produce power slides. This was also not the car of choice when navigating on gravel roads where unacceptable chassis vibration would result. Having said that, this was still a fun car to have - hand washing it was bordering erotic. Taken to the track, this car can really excel with neutral handling, wind-in-the-hair (finally adeqate ventilation in the helmet) experience, and true appreciation of the exhaust note. Driven daily, the sporty interior fitted like (leathery soft) gloves with chrome ringed guages a plenty, a true classic sport car tradition.

1999 Z3 The Best Sports Car Ever Built — Like everything about the Z3. Nice ride....can drive 8 hours and stlll feel great Fast enough.....better than avg handling. Goodyear Responsedge tires are the best for comfort and snow traction.

Pros

Fun little car, had ample power (would have liked more though) and was blast to drive
around twisty mountain roads.

Cons

Never felt as confident going around the corners at high speeds as I did in my old BMW
e30 and the steering wasn't as communicative as I would have expected from a BM.

Fun Little Two-seater — For just a test drive, this car was a blast! This BMW sure did love to move and was a load of fun to blast around corners with, however the car never felt as confident going around the twisties as I would have expected from a BMW, but it made for a fun hour and a half long blast around the Bridgers on a warm early summer day!
