Ludes Got Looks And Power — great car all around just wish it weighed a little less. the other thing is its front wheel drive. in 2012 honda hopes to come back out with the prelude and with rear wheel drive and possibly a v6 and 3 trims. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsIts a great car Consa little heavy for a sports car

Its A Great Car — this car has a high acceleration, breaking is good, and handling is spot on. The body is good with a fair paint job. interior and exterior is good. It is well maintained and gives a fair gas milage. It is fun to drive and it is very fast. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

5th Generation Honda Prelude: What Honda Used To Be. — This is Honda. Everything about the Prelude, all generations, is quintessentially Honda. Everything from the sharp styling and the satisfying thuuummp the doors make when you shut them to the savage Vtec crossover and 8k rpm. Anyone who thinks current Honda models are good cars should go back and remind their selves what Honda was in the late '90's. Admittedly the car is a bit heavy and if you really want just performance the 4th gen with the H22a is a better choice. But as a daily driver that can transform into a roaring hunk of sexy styling at 5800 rpm there is nothing like the 5th gen. Build quality is up there with the best of them. Driving position is where it should be. High enough to not be dangerous and low enough to make your stomach clinch in the corners. Gas mileage is mediocre. I, personally, averaged 22-24 in mixed 'spirited' driving. I've gotten as high as 28 and as low as 18. But as far as sporty cars go, its in the right ballpark. When something did break I had trouble finding parts and they were always expensive. But thats the story with any car that didn't sell in huge numbers. Bottom line though? To truly appreciate this car you should take off from a stop light. Give it about half throttle and shift into 2nd at 4k...Then just slowly ease the throttle into the floor. As the rpms rise so will the tent in your pants. When the Vtec crossover hits at 5800 rpm and that 2.2 Liter is at full song you will appreciate every last detail and all the cups of coffee that were sacrificed for that beautiful noise...it's a beautiful thing. It's a soul thats missing from modern day Honda. With no S2000, RSX, NSX and current TL type-S's with slushboxes and a focus on hybrid technology and the Accord Crosstour in existence, Honda is slipping quickly. I'd like to take Honda's current CEO and smack him in the face with the Crosstour drawings and make him drive a 5th gen Prelude. It's the only chance we've got. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Cool — Great all around car. Nice appearance, good gas mileage, decent power, good handling. When I went to buy a car I wanted a combo of reliability, performance, appearance and affordability, all things considered the Prelude was a good choice. yes. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Honda Prelude — This car was one of the best cars you could ask for. It handled like it was on rails and caught the eye of most everyone who was around. Not your typical car. It was a darn shame that Honda discontinued production of this beautiful car in 2001. I hope they bring it back in years to come, because they will always have a buyer in me. -Mike Owner of 1989 Si and 1998 Base |
