Pros

Great interior room for one to two passengers.  Reliable, tough motor.  Fuel economy good.
200,000+ miles, only replaced steering stabilizer bushings, front right wheel bearings, cat.

Cons

Weak AC system:  '98 model "Blend door" sprocket made of plastic.  WILL BREAK, very expensive to fix.

Good Truck For A Single Man — This truck lasted me through a marriage, three jobs, the birth of two kids, and college.... and is still going strong! The upgraded 2.5L engine a huge improvement over 2.3L in older models. Plenty of power in 2WD Rangers. Truck has great visibility during driving, and a comfortable ride. Currently, this truck is owned by my bro: who blew the engine up on a newer, "better" truck!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Nothing Great Truck

Best Truck I Have Ever Owned — This is by far the best truck I have ever owned! 4cly 5spd, I used to take it off road and beat the crap out of it in college and high school. Brother hit some black ice and went head on into some K-rail on the freeway without his seat belt on and walked away (the truck still ran great). We had the frame straightened and replaced a fender, hood, grill, and bumper. Still drive the truck everyday and pull a 18ft car hauler and a utility trailer with it regularly. It is at about 280,000 miles and still running strong. Have had no mechanical problems with this truck!

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

98 Ranger — For reliability it was great..Only replaced a clutch. Performance is not good but then again it is a 4cyl 5speed. The apperance was great when I got it not so much anymore. I love driving this truck and the gas mileage it gets is very good for a pickup. It has squeaks and rattles now but then again it has 160,000 miles on it. I have owned it since 70,000 and have had to replace just a clutch.

Pros

Fits in any parking spot. No blind spots.

Cons

gas mileage

Reliable And Low Cost Maintainance. — reliable transportation. Not a good work vehicle. Can't hide much in the cab. The 4 cylinder doesn't get the greatest gas mileage. Transmission doesn't shift smoothly. I've taken this vehicle, with high mileage, on a long road trip without a break-down. Would definitely buy another one!

Pros

The Stereo

Cons

the acceleration and speed limit

Ol' Red — The braking very good, not many repairs motor wise gas mileage is fairly good since it's from 1998 and it's just a good truck to drive. The handling is good but don't go around a curb going 60 or nothing like that. the acceleration is not the greatest but hey it's only a 290.

nice appearance and decent fuel economy

Cons

lack of power

Ford Ranger Four Cylinder — This truck barely counts as a truck. It is slow with a four cylinder and rides way to low as a 2 wheel drive. However it does get decent gas mileage. it has held up pretty well considering its age and use. It is somewhat fun to drive

Can't kill it.

Cons

Slow as molasses.

1998 Ford Ranger — The fury of the 1998 Ford 3.0L engine is not to be overestimated. At full throttle, it sounds as if you're going 100 m.p.h. - however that is far from the truth. On the plus side, I can't seem to kill it.

Not the truck that you can pull everything with

1998 Ford Ranger — This truck might be small but it is able to do almost any thing that a normal sized truck can, without the worry of gas prices. Currently I can get 28 to 29 miles per gallon. The truck has a 5 speed manual transmission with a 2.5L 4 cylinder motor. Although the truck doesn't have a great towing capacity it has no problem pulling a boat or other small trailer. Overall i am very pleased with the purchase.

Ford Trucks — Ford Ranger: 5 speed manual transmission in-line gas engine with 8 spark plugs for better fuel mileage. Vermillion (red) exterior with grey interior. Has a sliding rear glass window, A/c, AM/FM radio with single disc CD player.

Fors Ranger::::::::: Buy One If U Need Space And Something To Get Around In — it takes turns really well, as well as high speeds but its gettup and go power is mediocre and its seating ability is 2 comfortably and 5 really crammed. i think its a great car for a beginer driver but if i had the money i wouldnt be driving it anymore
