Great All Around Daily Driver — The ride is a little rough. But, I guess that is to be expected since it is built on a truck frame. Comfortably seat 4 adults and plenty of cargo room for trips to the lake or a couples night out. Car seats for kids fit easily and plenty of room when doors open so you don't hit their head as you maneuver them into their seats. Reliable, Reliable, Reliable.

Pros

Very comfortable and reliable. Gets me from point A to point B and that's what I need it for. Great for moving, I moved from home to college without having to rent a bigger car. All in all I love this car.

Cons

The fuel economy sucks. With the cost of gas now it really weighs on my wallet. It's also in the shop a lot. When I have the money to get it fixed there's so much that always needs to be done which also weighs heavily on my wallet.

The Longer I Had The Car The More I Liked It. — We bought it with 60k miles in 2002 and it now has 170k in 2013. The only repairs were the radiator, front a-arms bushing were squeaking and the whole arms had to be replaced. The torque coverter is starting to develope a shudder. It went through 2 kids learning to drive.

Pros

I like the roomyness, comfort of the seats on long trips, 4x4 and looks most.

Cons

I hate the gas mileage ang the severe lack of power it has.

Worth It — This suv is alot bigger inside than it looks. Very comfortable on long trips and a nice ride. It doesn't have alot of power for acceleration and is really a dog on hills but it's fine for normal everyday driving. Gas mileage around town is horrible but it's not too bad on the highway about 10mpg city 15 highway. Parts to repair it if it breaks down which isnt that often are reasonable. I really like it.

Pros

I love the V8 power and sound.

Cons

I hate the full-time AWD

Great Winter Suv, Cant Beat The Sound And Power Of The Tried And True 5.0l V8 — Even though it weighs a hefty 4330 lbs the explorer 5.0l v8 really gets up and goes. The sound of the magnaflow exhaust is addicting and it is so much fun to drive. Overall this vehicle has had common problems that most ford vehicles suffer from. Like radiator, lower ball joints, water pump, and other normal maintenance. Overall this is a strong runner and very reliable vehicle.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Its Called An Exploreer For A Reason! — great all round vehicle, strong runner with comfortable handling. the all wheel drive system makes for the complete package. Quiet interior with a quality sound system. Plenty of ground clearance for off road fun! Good acceleration whether towing or crawling thru the mud!

And the radio thing.and its big." Gangsta: "the inside looks nice but the outside needs some work" - agreed Performance: its got a 5.0 Mustang 8-cylinder SOHC Fuel injected engine with a 6speed Transmission so its pretty fast and powerful 320hp, acceleration: 0-60 10.23 seconds Braking: 60-0 in 178 feet Handing: AWD 2 way differential, Independent suspension Build Quality: Solid but needs some work on the outside little bit of rust no rattles or squeaks she purs like a kitteh(: Appearance: Inside: is clean and nice, Dual Stereo MP3 BLUETOOTH and AUX comp. , Pioneer 7x5 or 6x8 speakers front done needs rear sets, full underdash and rear seats blue LEDs(not NEONS lol) and i keep her pretty clean on the inside Outside: needs work here and there but overall looks nice when shes not covered in snow lol Cost: i got her for free!!1(: she sucks gas i'd say 9 miles to the gallon and has 167,XXX on her but explorers are built to go up to 350,XXX :P Maintenance: i check her EVERYDAY so shes pretty well taken care of lol Fun Factor: Ask my friends that and they'll say its pretty damn fun to ride in that truck lol so i LOVE driving her(:

bad gas millege

It's A School Car — I like that it is a four wheel drive vehicle and that it gets me from point A to point B and back to A. The two bad thing about this car are that it is a gas guzzler and that the throttle sticks.
