ProsIts practical, and fun! ConsGas mileage is pretty low

Keeps On Truckin' — The Ranger accelerates pretty well; I mean i can beat most other light trucks off the Red light. It is also very well built, save for the occasional parts that need replacing. Unfortunately the Gas mileage is pretty low, but the Truck is both fun to drive and has an abundance of after market parts available. The 97 ranger looks good, but in my opinion the 98 look much better. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsAffordabilty Consit isn't a show car, but could be made into one

Affordable Tough Truck — I have a 2.3 L and it is pretty slow. The thing is tough as a rock though. 20MPG :). I like working on it and can be cleaned up very nicely. Ride qualtiy is fine, it would be nicer if I got new shocks. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsGreat on gas; very customizable Cons4-cyl

Great Compromise Between Truck And Fuel Efficency — I like the fact that i can have a truck and still get better gas mileage than many of the other cars in the parking lot. This car only has the 2.3l in it so it doesn't have alot of power, but it does get decent gas mileage 24city/28highway. The thing I like the most has to be the Manual 5-speed. It gives you full control over the available power and doesn't take any power away like the automatic would. I also like being able to customize the truck to be mine. Color/body really sticks out and recieve complements daily on how good the truck looks with the mods. Mods are more classy and not overdone, just to add a subtle custom look but keep it looking like it came like that Primary Use: Commuting to work

Great Car Thats Fun To Have! — This is a great car. Bought it from a friend and love it! Havn't had any problems with it in 8 months yet. It drives really well and gets me everywhere I need it to. It's a simple basic car but can't go wrong with it. It's a ton of fun to drive Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsMost reliable machine ever built Consleg room

Best Little Truck Ever Built, Payload, Towing, Sporty Feeling And Fuel Efficient At Around 25mpg — I bought this truck new, has nearly 300,000 miles now. Been a great truck. I beat it to death and it begs for more. May not be the fastest but it is fun to drive and always gets the job done. Love the body style or I never would have boguht it. Braking is greatly improved with the explorer axle I put in it. Interior could use a little more leg room Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosgets good gas milage very reliable Consits a 4 cylinder

Reliable Ranger — Performance-Does that even exist? Build quality-good did put a timing belt in it, but at 220000 miles that's understandable. Appearance-rather bla but not ugly like the previous gen. Cost of ownership-low mileage is good for a pickup and other than the timing belt all i had to do was change the oil. Fun factor-uh when I do the engine swap it should be fun but the four cylinder isn't good for any thing other than gas mileage. Primary Use: Commuting to work
