Cons

back seats are small

Great Small Truck — Plenty of power from the 4.3 vortec. Automatic transmission. I had wider tires on it and it cornered great. Flowmaster 40 single in/ dual out. Sounds great that way. Fun truck and kind of miss it. The 96 to early 98 trucks are awsome.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

A Good First Car — I remeber when my parents first gave me this Jimmy. Once I moved out they put it under my grandfathers name so I wouldn't have to pay super high insurance. It kept breaking down and eventually he idiotically put $14,000 in it over the course of 2 years. We had someone put in a brand new vortex engine in it and a month later I'm going 75 on the high way and the oil hose pops off and screws up the less than one year old engine. We ended up buying a used engine and having someone put it in. runs great now and have had no more problems. I guess thats because we replaced just about every single part on it

Amazed — I've own my truck for about 2 and a half years now, the first year i owned it it'd sat in storage (needed a fuel pump and tank), when i took it outta storage the engine was kinda seized up, but luckily broke it free using vise grips and half turning the engine. changed the oil and ran good. It still runs good. My friends and i go mudding every now and then, and it'll rip right through any mud hole i can find. hauls real good, can haul stove fridge and dryer in a trailer with no problems even up hill and the inside loaded with heavy boxes and a dresser and queen mattress tied to the roof. only repairs ever needed was both lower ball joints, passenger side front axle, breaks and rotors and tires. Down side is the rear seat, it doesn't fit 3 car seats easily, but will with a little force. Front is nice and comfortable, has good leg room. and its very dependable, and the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. One of the best little suv/trucks. its very powerful too, it'll whoop mustangs all day long with little to no effort. Even beat a v8 silverado 1500 with my little 4.3 v6. If you want a good looking, powerful, good hauling, reliable and dependable family vehicle look no further.

Cons

If I Can Get 4 Wheel Fixed And Some More Things To Work, It Would Be Awesome. — it has lots of power, okay acceleration, brakes are pretty soggy, handles solid, buttons dont all work, 4 wheel drive doesnt work, so it looks great but only about half of everything works. it is a great little suv, would be the perfect vehicle if i could get some things fixed.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

It's not a Ford, it's American, and it has a real frame under it.

Cons

It's a little top heavy

A Great Vehicle For What It Is, But I'd Rather Have A Silverado Z71. — It has a 4.3L w/ Vortec intake, good bit of power in acceleration and on the top end for a stock engine but the damn thing cuts out at 92mph... It's was built when they still used steel to build frames and doesn't have crush points so if you hit anything it won't look like a smashed can... The outside looks pretty good for the year it was built, whoever thought a tan interior looked good was a moron though, gas mileage is great and maintenance is cheap and easy

Do What You Want, But This Has My Vote — -New 4.3 Vortec from 2002 Blazer -Cold Air Intake with Spectre Performance high flow filter -Front/Rear lift kit 2/3 -18 mpg -Just had to replace the gas tank and pressure ans return lines -Awesome to drive on sand dunes

Cons

Gas mileage

Ultimate Vehicle — Truck handles good for stock suspension and for a SUV its pretty good on the performance side. Overall a solid vehicle with little draw back except for the gas mileage you get. GMC really knows how to muck great vehicles.
