Great Alround Car — Great fun to drive, tons of power! •Performance - acceleration -10, braking - 10, handling -10 •Build Quality - 10 squeaks/rattles none with over 125k miles on it! •Appearance - both interior and exterior styling are fine with me. could use more cup holders but the fixed that with later year models. •Cost of Ownership - gas mileage- its not a hybrid, but is good on highway driving, maintenance- low cost, parts are easy to find and fix! •Fun Factor - Very fun to drive!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Quicker than any stock GT, Soon to be Cobra worthy.

Cons

96 Base Mustang, 4.6 Swapped, Yes Its Fast — The car is a base model 96. Came as a V6 car. A complete V8 swap was done by myself, from engine to rear end. The engine is a 2003 4.6 V8 from a Lincoln Town Car. Engine mods so far are slim, Cold air intake, shorty ceramic ford racing headers, BBK X pipe. It handles like a dream due to the strut tower brace borrowed from a 96 GT, Also a K member brace from a 02 GT vert. The front end really holds together well. Mods for this summer include eibach drop coils over Tokico blue shocks with 4way adjustable caster camber plates. Subframe braces and solid control arms to stiffen up the rear end of the car. A new engine will be used from a 03 Roush stage 2 mustang with a stage 2 clutch and flywheel to help handle the 150-200 hp Nitrous shot, not sure which way i'm going yet.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Cons

on the highway or quater-mile track there are alot of cars that would eat this thing up.

96 Gt — This car was hot to look at but it was a 96 and the first year of the new 4.6 liter. Basically the design was a little flawed and not thoroughly tested as it should be. In 98 the revised the intake which was most of the problem this brought the horsepower up another 15 from 215 to 230. In 99 when they changed the body style again the was more improvments to the engine and that brought horsepower up to 245. In 2001 it jumped to 265 and when the latest body style came in 2005 the horsepower was finally at a respectfull 300. Due to the heavy weight of the car (especially a convertible adds another 600 lbs) and the price tag of it when it comes to performance the mustang has almost always been in the back of the pack. But they have a certain nostaglia to them that makes the purchase worth while. They will always due what they were meant to do which is eat asphalt and spit burnt rubber. Besides most people don't buy cars with racing being there main concern...

Cons

tires cost alot, and it's very thirsty for gas

Best Car Ever — This car is a BLAST. It takes off like a demon that 4.6 V8 really moves. It gets a little crazy on the corners when your on power but a very good handling car. As far as quality goes I seem to go through tires quickly :). I did however have to replace the radiator at 118500 miles. Gas milage isn't all that great and parts are on the more expensive side. Despite the cost to own I wouldn't get rid of this car for the world. Even if gas gets up $5 a gallon.

1996 Gt Convertible — Great power and handling. Just what I wanted to drive 3 or 4K a year. First convertible and its great. Fun to drive, performs well. No maintenance problems yet. Lover the wheels with the red Mustang on them.

Solid All-rounder Easy To Live With And Suitable For Most Needs... Good Weekend Car — Pulls great through all gears due to square torque curve. True muscle car feel without a lot of negative drawbacks

Not A Practical Car But Its A Blast!!!! — This is my everyday driver with many mods to make it a little more fun, In my opinion you have to make these cars a part of your personality so what you add to it just makes them more enjoyable to the owner. Not everyone may agree but its your baby enjoy it!!!!!

Great Year Mustang — This is a very nice car. I have headers and a true dual exhaust on it. Also installed a cold air intake. I get 29 MPG and the sound of a GT. Very fast. I leave all 1999-2004 models in the dust.
