1996 Buick Riviera Supercharged Coupe Review
ProsGreat power with great fuel economy. Looks great! ConsFront wheel drive is lame. If you want a great car with a Supercharger ans RWD, get a Monte Carlo.

Great Sleeper, Loads Of Fun, Plenty Of Power. I Love It! — Great car. Supercharger gives it kick. Front wheel drive is no fun. Very reliable car never had a major repair in seven years of ownership. Very fun. Easy to get wheel spin. 22-26 mpg, rarely at the pump. Overall great car! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Just A Super Car! — You can find these in immaculate condition for under $3k. Don't worry about the mileage. IF it's been properly maintained it will run forever. Supercharged and ultimate comfort. Rare design that never fails to turn heads. I don't know why Buick quit making these. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Suprising — This is my favorite out of all the cars i have owned. It accelerates and brakes awsome. The handling was a little questonable until i swapped in a strut tower brace and bonneville ssei struts and springs. It is really comftorable and gets really good over all mileage. The front of the car is gorgeous but falls short if you are looking at it from the back. Its built well but small replacements parts like switches and such are really expensive. luckily it shares alot of other parts with the gm line and most parts arent expensive. It is really fun to suprise people with how fast it is off the line when they think they have a fast car. oh i forgot to mention i have alot of gtp upgrades done to the motor and trans. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

ProsAll around great car. Excellent room, speed, handling, safe, dependable. ConsUses premium fuel, when something does go wrong, it is expensive.

It Is More Than A Granny Car That People Assume About Buick. Even Your Adolescent Might Like It — Performance - excellent acceleration for it's size, good handling, braking is a little flaky sometimes. Quality - No major operational repairs as of yet, just regular maintenance. Appearance - Very nice and futuristic looking car. Needs paint and rear window sealant, but it is thirteen years old too. Cost - guzzles more gas than I'd like, and uses premium fuel, but it could be a lot worse. Maintenance is expensive, but what car isn't expensive to maintain? Fun - I like driving my land yacht, it is very comfortable , it is powerful, and I even get a few compliments here and there. To each their own though. Primary Use: Family transportation |

ProsSame as above ConsHard to find parts for, especiall the body

Good, Odd, Reliable Vehicle — Car runs great, has the infamous 3.8 liter V-6. The best riding car on the highway that I've ever owned. The worst handling car otherwise. Good fuel economy, good reliability, odd, if not good looking. Also it's a car that you can work on yourself if your ever in the need. |

Heavy, Great Ride, Quiet, Supercharged Quick. — I'm a huge fan of this car. Very comfortable, spacious, and luxurious considering the price. The 3.8L Supercharged V6 has amazing torque from off the line, and often even on steep hills in overdrive does not downshift! Relatively rare on the streets, only 27,000 were made in 1996. Quite possibly the rarest, cheapest car you'll find that is actually worth owning. |
