Garbage — Performance - Non-existent Build Quality - Not very good Appearance - No form or function, not a good car if you have legs. Cost of Ownership - Low cost, Fun Factor - Typical slow, yet overrated 4 - cylinder engine, zero torque, and even less hp.

Awesom — I love the way the car rides and runs (when it is running). A con is that the back seat is not meant for a college girl to be taking people to parties, but that can be good too :). Overall the car is great and I am anxiously waiting to fix it so that I can get to school and my softball games. Came with a special gift...a broken windshield that looks like came from a softball. Says the car is for me!

Cons

not meant for long legs

Handles Like A Dream — I absolutely loved this car when i had it. It handled corners and gripped the road so well, it was like being at the track. At 2000 rpm the turbo kicked in and it was gone, gotta love it. It got very good gas mileage, it was a 4-cyl so it didnt have a huge tank to fill, and when full, it lasted awhile. The interior of mine was leather and being that it was a black car; well that made it a hot car, literally, in the summer. That and being that i am somewhat tall, there wasnt a ton of leg room for me but, hey, it didn't care...i loved it(-:

Pros

Much better styling than the 1g Eclipse, lots of trunk space, console is well designed, sunroof is nice, can't get in trouble with turbo

Cons

My particular car was a horrible decision. This is not a vehicle for an entitled teenage boy as it requires someone who is mechanically inclined.

Semi Fuel Efficient, Pseudo-sport Car — I bought my car in July 2011 and it was great to drive throughout the summer. But in September I ran into an issue. Long story short I had to replace parts of the fuel system- gas tank, lines, pump and injectors. Apparently the whole summer I'd been running on three cylinders and the other injectors were clogging up because my gas tank was filled with rust which effed up the lines and everything else. So that was fun. I got a job that required me to commute 200 miles a day round-trip and my car got pretty good mileage, at least 25 mpg or more at 60 mph the whole way. It sucks down gas in the city, though, thanks to all the stoplights. Everything was fine until October 2012 when a horrible noise started coming from the engine. It still starts and is driveable, but a mechanic said the camshaft bearings need to be replaced. Sigh. The car is now 18 years old and if the previous owners hadn't mistreated it and left me with this barrage of problems, it would be on the road today. One thing that annoys me is that the motor is actually a Chrysler 420A, not a Mitsubishi motor, and it's a pain in the ass to find parts because everyone thinks all the Eclipses are Mitsus. They're not; the RS and GS are 420A while the GS-T and GSX are 4G63 Mitsus. I plan on getting a GSX in the future because they are AWD and turbo, and you can build the motors like crazy. Enthusiasts say you can build the 420A but it's way too expensive, so you really might as well get a turbo model. The RS and GS are really great for having a fairly fuel efficient car that looks sporty. You can of course tune the suspension and make minor upgrades like a cold air intake and exhaust, but most mods are going to be cosmetic and therefore useless for performance.

Cons

Money Pit very poor design suspension was not designed well at all

Junk — JUNK complete JUNK i bought it when it was only 2 years old and it only lasted till it was 5 years old before all the suspension fell apart and the engine was knocking on it. I will never buy another Mitsubishi after having this complete piece of Junk!

Ladys Love It — love this car. Easy to maintain if you know what you are doing. the only thing that is hard to do is the timing belt to be honest. i am painting it royal blue. it was originally bascayrean green pearl which is the rarest color, but its too girly. New; rotors and brakes, belts, injen short ram intake, radiator, hood scoop fiberglassed by myself, took off the hood-latch and put in hood pins, carbon fiber headliner, and a lot more.

Capable of breaking at any given moment.

Dsm Addiction — Reason I gave it five stars on power is because a 4g63 has alot of potential. It gets pretty good gas mileage and if something goes wrong or breaks its usually pretty cheap and easy to fix. especially if you have owned one for awhile they usually turn an ordinary person into a mechanic lol. This is why i gave it 3 stars for reliability, these cars are notorious for having problems. So always take good care of your DSM ;)

Perfection — I love this car! Its been my dream to own a GSX forever, and everything about them is perfect. Mine is only a GS which comes with a non-turbo 420a Chrysler motor. But I've seen many people turbo them. Performance-wise mine has Crower stage 3 254 cams, Aem cold-air Intake, OBX Front Strut Bar(which makes for great handling especially around corners. eibach lowering springs, & Adjustable bushings/Camber kit on all four corners. Transmission just had some work done. I replaced the throwout bearing, all motor mounts, plugs & wires(on a regular basis), and replaced all the wheel hubs, control arms, bushings, ball joints. I'm also savin to make it a turbo 420a beast! Cosmetically.. it has z3 fenders, oem turbo wing, drifter sideskirts, clear sidemarkers, & Halo headlights w/ 10k HIDs. Everything about it...color, shape, sound, is flawless. The interior also flawless. This car is excellent all around, there's a lot of available aftermarket parts for DSMs, easily customizable and extremely sexy and fun to drive. I'm in love.
