95 318i — It has a good maintenance record at 238,000 miles but now my windshield wipers stay on when I try to turn them off. It becomes an annoyance to keep having to turn the car off to get them to stop. Otherwise it has really been a solid and reliable car.

Pros

Handling, quality and performance are top of the class.

Cons

May be clumsy in tight parking areas (it's not a small car)

Excellent Sports Coupe — Good value for money, excellent handling and loads of torque. Everything for driver is easily reachable and does not get into the way either. Cars 10 years younger offer more power (of course) but also cost more. Not much leg room in the back with a driver of similar height (180cm) but plenty of space in the trunk. If you want a cheap car get something from Japan instead, if you want a car with good handling then there's no alternative.

You Don't Always Need An M — I have been extremely pleased with this car ever since i bought it. this car has never failed to impress me. The cost of ownership is not nearly as the myths say. nothing is as expensive as you might hear This car is amazing to drive it shifts through every gear like a breaze. acceleration is incredible but of course can be improved. cornering is a little on the sloppy side but with a few modifications can be greatly improved. overall this vehicle lives up to its heritage and is a well built machine worthy of the BMW name.

Pros

Slight understeer when pushed to its limit, but with the possibility to get the back end out.

Cons

Underpowered, and no significant gains can be had cheaply and easily.

Cheap, Slow, But Fun-to-throw-around-in-turns Bmw. — I've had my car for a year and a half and its been good. No trouble with the engine except two crankcase seals. I've had the clutch and slave cylinder replaced though, mainly because of a lot of burn outs after I learned how to drive stick. Haha. It gets good mileage and is a smooth and stable drive, although body roll is quite evident at off- ramp speeds of 50+, also at over 100 i can feel the up-force from the relatively high ground clearance of the front end. Lowering springs and front bumper lip recommended.

My 95 318ti — this is a great car in my opinion. 4cyl 1.8L in-line 4 100-105 hp. BMW only made these from 95-99 due to poor sales numbers. this is my first car that my uncle gave to me because my cousin didn't like it anymore and he had driven it to and from Ohio State Uni. i really like it because its a manual and this was the car that i learned how to drive a manual trans.

Fun Carr — Performance is great, built like a tank, the apperance is sporty, car is very fun to drive but it wastes a lot of gas. The car acceleration is great has some electrical problems with the brake lights. Car seat warmers are amazing as well

Pros

Quick, reliable, practical, pretty, fun, comfortable little sports car.

Cons

Gas mileage? Kinda? Who cares it's a BMW there's no reason to not buy it.

It's An Amazing Car. I'm Glad I Have It. If You Find One In Good Condition, Buy It. — This car is amazing. My friends have Japanese cars and my car breaks down less than any of theirs. And that's not bad considering that it has 150,000 miles on it. Granted, parts are more expensive when it does, but it's a BMW. The car isn't a ferrari, but it's quick, with great handling courtesy of the arguably perfect weight distribution of the e36 (considered one of the best bodies for a car ever made). It also has a very tight turning radius which comes in handy more often than you would expect. The car is fairly small, great for tight parking spots (and racing in heavy traffic). The car has a 2.5 liter inline 6, with 189 horsepower and 181 pound feet of torque. The 0-60 for the stick is 7.5, and the automatic (mine) is about 8.5. The braking is great, the handling is great as I mentioned, and the rear wheel drive coupled with the fact that the car is fairly light makes it a decent car to drift. The build quality is good, and as I said it's very reliable (as long as you treat it right). The interior and exterior are beautiful in my opinion (could possibly be first love syndrome since it's my first car so nothing else looks as pretty), but my friends agree as well so I'm sure it doesn't look bad. The car gets combined 20-22 miles per gallon. It gets about 18 in the city and 25 on the freeway (assuming I'm not speeding, if I'm speeding around it gets combined 15-16), which isn't great. Also, the car doesn't take regular gasoline, it takes Plus (89 AKI) so that's an extra 10-15 cents per gallon there always. The only complaints (not really but if there were things I did complain about they would be these) are the not amazing gas mileage and the lack of trunk space (the latter being partially my fault because of my subs). And, this is relevant if you're looking to buy one, the A/C and the heater ROCK, but only once the engine is warmed up. Other than that, the car is really fun to drive, and I love it.

More Fun And Better Built Than A Lot Of Cars 10 Years Newer — Acceleration leaves a bit to be desired but hey, its only a 1.8L 4 cyl. The quality is awesome. Its a 1995 and Ive driven newer cars that arent as tight or handle as good. It does have a few rattles but after 220K miles, I can overlook that. Parts can be expensive and oil changes cost a little more because it takes a cartridge filter but well worth it. Its the lowest model bmw makes and it has features on it much newer cars dont. Bmw is way ahead of the game.

Cons

This one was just too low.

1995 Bmw 3 Series 318ti — Performance: 1.8ti is quite quick, the backbox gave a lovely exhaust note to it. Brakes were very strong, handled Ok in a flat road, it was just too low to drive properly. Build Quality: Very good. Appearance: Wearing its miles (198k) very well, was in lovely condition. All the mods looked really nice. Cost Of Ownership: Good on Petrol and cheap to insure. Fun Factor: Great fun, turned lots of heads.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
