The Window Within A Window Design — Well for the SVX enthusiasts, we all know these cars. People either hate them or absolutely love them. As for me, im one of those people who adore the SVX. Subaru hasn't yet since captured the same unique design of the Alcyone svx. Driving these rare limited cars gives you the great satisfaction of driving a true Japanese muscle car. In my opion, Subaru will never create another car quite like the svx. The unigue design and appearance makes the car look like it's moving while standing still. A great feat, Subaru accomplished years ago. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsLooks, AWD ConsCost intensive

I'll Always Own One. — The best thing ever to wear the Subaru badge. Way ahead of it's time. It's more quiet than my Lexus. Looks great, trouble free if maintained properly. Love that this car has no blind spots, and that it runs circles around 4WD trucks and SUVs in the snow. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Prosgreat to drive, comfortable, room for the kids Consrear wheel bearings, auto-slush box transmission, needs more power

Great Car, Needs More Power — I love this car. I drive it 100 miles a day, and it's comfortable, but has some get-up-and-go. The seats are comfortable, it has good visibility, and there's room in the back for my kids. It's AWD, and handles well in the snow as well as in the dry or wet. |

ProsLove the car. My 2nd one . I purchased my 1st in, a19 92 in 94 . I used it as a DD and didn't really spend a lot on it, hence it got OLD and worn. I purchased the 1994 from a real enthusiast . Every option possible is done to this car (YES even a 5 speed ) one of the very few with a WRX 5 speed tranny and clutch. The exhaust was opened up and the disk brakes are cross drilled, radiator is aluminum, chip is added to ECU for performance, 18 " wheels, radio up grade along with speakers, has 126,000 miles and runs like a small Corvette. Best car I ever drove in snow. And 5 speed made all the difference in the world ConsA little hard on gas with the 5 speed 17 in town 28 on the high way. Parts are not cheap some almost impossible . Not bad MPG for an All Wheel Drive

Great Car If You Can Find A Good One Now In The $5,000 Range — Not a graceful car to enter. Heavy doors and trunk lid. The smile after driving it is hard to wipe off your face . If U like attention this is the car for U.Allow extra time when stopping for GAS . When buying this car have it checked over. Wheel bearings tranny, and brakes are a trouble spot. Drove this car cross country twice, hated to have to stop for gas . EVEN after 17 years it still look modern Primary Use: Commuting to work |

ProsIt's fun, fast and luxurious, especially for its age. ConsCan be expensive, especially if you are hard on transmissions

A Truly Unique Care That Is Becoming Rare With Each Passing Year — Excellent car with impressive performance, especially at cruising speed on the highway. The build quality is first rate and with its window in window styling, this 2-door coupe will turn plenty of heads. This is not a boy-racer car. If you want that, go for a WRX. But if you are looking for a luxury grand touring sports car that can run with the big boys, the SVX is a perfect choice. You will pay for this luxury however. It's high-performance boxer 6 doesn't exactly sip gas and repairs can get a little expensive. Earlier versions have had trouble with their transmissions but the 1994s -1997s seem much better. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

ProsYou want a car that stands out in looks and performance, yet stays below the Exotic radar. ConsIf you need trunk space or backseet room, this car is not for you.

Total Excitement From Stop To Go! — Performance at first was impressive. Improved upon greatly once the exhaust was opened up. Took out the stock muffler for a performance tuned and widened the exhaust piping. Speedometer goes to 160MPH, top for me was 150MPH with no hesitation. Fuel aside, it does require Premium grade fuel (trust me, do not try to downgrade). Everything about this car I loved. One small bad spot was the cost of parts when things did need replacing. But the looks I got when this car was out and about was more than exciting. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Svx — Great car...WHEN it was running. Wheel bearing go bad. Car was way too heavy, but motor had enough torque to get it moving. It was a blast to drive. Motor was pretty much bulletproof. Definitely needed the transmission swapped for a manual to make it much more enjoyable. Yeah. |
