ProsVery useful. ConsAwful fuel economy.

Won't Help You Pick Up Chicks, But Otherwise A Decent Vehicle. — It's old and ugly but it does it's job well. Strong engine but it handles like a motorhome. Could probably pull one though. Other than the random electrical problems and excessive rust, it's not bad. A good work truck. I wish the AC worked... I can't trace the short. Primary Use: Commuting to work

2 Dakotas, 10 Plus Years — my first Dakota I had was a 95 sport club cab 4x4 that I bought in 96 with 40k, I sold it with great sorrow in 06 due to increasing rust (she spent all but the last year in N.H.) I left her with almost 200k of hard use, she still ran strong. about 2 weeks ago I picked up a 92 2wd club cab (rust free, Heaven) this one has the same V6 but this time backed with an AT instead, other than a few small repairs that where easy to do she is a very young 200k. I plan on having this one for quite a while. My first 'Kota developed my fondness for the gen 1 'Kota and my present one continues to solidify those feelings. Perfect size, good performance, good mpg, comfy ride and if you take care of her, she'll take care of you.

Prosdurability and dependability Constransmissions can go bad on these, unless taken care of properly

Lil Ol Dodge Puts Ford To Shame — this was an awesome truck... very tough even with over 228k original miles on it (no major engine work or transmission work), it still pulled a brand new (2007) Ford powerstroke with duallys and a tandem trailer with 11 tons of horse crap out of the mud... with no problem.. we managed to put over 298k miles on it before it finally needed its first major repair, and then it needed a new transmission... i would definately recommend it to my friends... in fact i'm getting another one myself...

An Up Comeing Truck? — it was very peppy, had to do a lot of work to make it good looking, but never broke down... very good truck. only thing that had to be replaced was the transmission it was a very good truck. i couldn't have been happier with a first vehicle than that one.

Great, Dependable, Sturdy Truck — i love everything about this truck the handling the braking the size. Just because it is a small truck does not necessarily mean that it cannot handle heavy tasks on its own i was amazed that it lasted me the 2 years i have owned it and it has not lost its power....except for the fact that i wrecked with minor cosmetic damage to my knowledge it is still running, IT IS A VERY DEPENDABLE TRUCK! Prossuper fast for pick-up / its as if your driving a corvette the power is there / so much of it ,it will spin tire in 4th gear at 65mph from the factory, handle great no body roll in corners, Consso much power the wheels dont hook up just spin, easy to slide out in the rain(no traction0 in water/ hard clutch peddle takes effort to drive/ low geared in first excessive road noise/ but not overly load managable.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pretty Damn Nice For The Age — it moves around nicely, might not be the prettiest or the fastest but also rides nice and the stereo slams, nice and comfortable for someone 6 ft and under and gets pretty decent mileage especially on the high way also has a nice tight turn radius and no blind spots. Primary Use: Commuting to work
