Pros

Cloth interior; vinyl stopped burning my skin in the summer; otherwise, Kimberly performed just as admirably as Kate did.

Cons

Transmission wasn't shifting from 1st even at 35MPH, distributor cap needed to be replaced, the compressor was cracked so the A/C didn't work, the radiator was clogged so the engine would overheat, one of the tires had a slow leak, the trunk lamp burned out, the rear defroster didn't work, one of the headlamp mounts broke, aimed too low and shook while driving, the rear paint was coming off.

Better Than Most, Not As Good As Some — After my 2000 purchase, an ex-Santa Ana cruiser, was totaled in June '02, I hunted down this former Huntington Beach Civilian Patrol car September 23, 2002 and after getting it painted March 18, 2003, I discovered a litany of problems. I ended up selling this vehicle late January, 2005 as just keeping it around was costing me a fortune.

Never Selling This Car It's Awesome. — I love this car it has been in my family since it came out in 92. Performance wise it's rather slow off the line but only because it weighs almost 3 tons. Has a 350 v8 with a 700r transmission. Is actually good for towing. Only problem we've ever had with it was a fuel pump which isn't big. No squeaks or rattles ever. Nobody can resist looking at this car when I drive by. Averages 16-18 mpg and has very little little maitenance. It's as comfortable as a Cadillac and is very spacious with third row seats. It is also good for towing boats, etc.

Pros

Spacious, powerful, unique.

Cons

Gas mileage (if you give a damn), size (if you have to park in tight spaces)

Love It — GOBS of torque available from the get go. 3.23 posi makes things interesting in all scenarios. More space than almost anyone could ever need Cool factor is through the roof, wagons are so unique, how could you not want one? It's big, lofty, and comfortable, but isn't afraid to lay down the rubber if it's got to. Loving the cloth interior as it doesn't get hot like leather does here in FL. Probably the most Roo-tastic car there is. Only way this could be better was if it was an LT1 Caprice, so I'll give it 4 stars on performance.

Super Cool — It's an ex police cruiser, still has the spotlight, it's really big and still gets good mileage.

The Boat Of The 90's — This car is great! It gets great gas mileage (27mpg hwy) and has 170,000 miles on it. It's an ex-police cruiser.

Excellent Family Highway Cruizer — I have owned Caprice Classics for years now, my first on was a 85, now I have a 92. It has 285,000 on it, we have replaced the engine and transmission, but the transmission was due to pulling our camper, these cars are not geared for pulling. We averaged about 32 mpg highway at 110km/hr. Major comfort, nice stereo, huge trunk.
