Pros

I like that basically everything was really cheap on the truck and able to get easy. something broke pay 20 bucks and about an hour of your time

Cons

I really didn't like that it didn't have a lot of power, i got it up to 90 mph a couple times but it really didn't like it mainly cause it was red lining

Not A Bad Beater — wasn't a bad truck, its pretty good for a cheap beater, and fun to drive if your kinda reckless, but it doesn't have a lot of power. also very cheap to maintain. i wasn't a big fan of the boxy style but again not bad

Very Dependable And Stylish. — Great little truck that I bought used. It originally used to be a work truck so it needed some body work and I am still upgrading the interior. I love the body style with plenty of leg room. I have had to perform very few repairs and it has been very dependable. It is a blast to drive with the 2.8 V6 and manual transmission and still gets about 25 MPG.

Like A Rock — Awsome little truck with an attitude. hasen't failed me yet, the guy i bought it from let it sit for 5 years and it started at the first turn of the key. only problem was with the body rust, but i fixed that. the interior is nice and easy to clean. i can go to the moto cross park and have the interior looking like new after a little vaccuming. handles great and the 5 speed gives you some nice acceleration. very cheap to own. paid 600 for it and only put about 700 in it (mostly after market parts though) and did i mention that its a blast to drive.

Pros

4x4, winter / off-road driving, cargo capacity, engine power, underbody guard package.

Cons

Lack of power accessories, poor seat quality, rust-prone, poor acceleration in relation to engine size, short bed makes hauling long objects slightly difficult.

Great Utility Vehicle, Just Adequate As A Daily Driver. — When used as a winter driver or as a utility vehicle for hauling, hunting, or off-roading, this truck is great. I have found the 4.3L V6 coupled with the 4x4 nigh unstoppable in snow or mud. I've made it through drifts 3 feet deep, even while traveling uphill on tires with very little tread remaining. I have used my truck in one of my own moves and have helped many friends and family with moving duties, in which the hauling ability of the S10 has always proved invaluable. The extended cab is great for stowing tools, hunting gear, towstraps, ropes, chains, flashlights, and the like, and also features two small flip-down seats which are suitable only for children. However, the benefits of the extended cab come at the cost of a short bed, which cuts down on hauling capacity and makes hauling longer objects somewhat difficult if they cannot rest atop the tailgate or safely hang off of the back of the truck with the tailgate down. The all-steel body construction lends itself to significant rust issues if driven through the winters, which can result in some maintenance issues (rusted gas tank, brake lines, fuel lines). I've also found that the doors tend to sag over time due to their solid steel construction, which means completely closing the door requires one to pick up on the door while closing it. There is no factory hitch, which is a major drawback. I purchased my S10 with an after-market bumper-mounted hitch in place, which did not stand up to the weight of a medium sized trailer. The overall ride comfort is low, as handling is somewhat sloppy and there is pronounced body lean through curves. Fuel economy ranges from 16-20 mpg. Seats are of low quality and are not suited for extended drives. The lack of power accessories can make driving monotonous. An excellent utility vehicle or winter driver, the 4x4 S10 is not for families, for those with extended daily commutes, or for those who enjoy a comfort-laden driving experience.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

the pwoer for the v-6

Cons

any transmission issues i wouldnt recomend it unless u have about 700-1000. bucks for a tranny.

Burns Tires Off With Ease — It has a 4.3 ltr engine and it has plenty of power its hard to keep tires on lol. the worst thing about it is the transmission they are hard to find to replace one. over time the drivers dorr has a sqeaky rattle in it which is the rods for the lock and door handle. if i drive sanely it is not to bad but when i have mario andretti flash backs it loves to drink. otherwise i have no complaints about.

Cons

Rust. Lots of rust.

Project Dime — THis is my project. The original engine is still in there, and it's running great. Very fun to drive, the 5-speed tranny coupled with the low-geared possitraction diff makes for lots of burned tires. I got to pretty my truck up soon.
