1989 Ford Mustang Overview
Overall User Score
Based on 88 reviews
Ford marked the 25th anniversary of the Ford Mustang with less fanfare than its 20th. The 1989 Ford Mustangs remained largely unchanged from the previous couple of years.
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Ford brought back the 5.0-liter small-block V8. The car was intended to compete with the top-of-the-line Chevy Camaro IROC Z, and did so fairly successfully, producing 225 horsepower, and going from 0 to 60 in 6.2 seconds.
