A Fast, Fun Car. — super fast, fun to drive the Ford RS Turbo MkII is a front wheel drive hot hatch. mine was fitted with a high-bread ( high performance) Turbo and Dump valve which expelled the air out the Turbo so as not to have Turbo lag. when you put your foot down the turbo cut in straight away and pushed you back into the Standard Recaro seats. Cornering was fantastic and stuck like glue in the corners. the only down side i had was when the odd little thing went wrong. finding a garage that knew what was the problem was hard at first. but in the end I found someone who knew them. he was a bit pricey but fix everything that i came across. never wanted to sell it but i lolst my job and it needed a new clutch plate. if I had the money I would still own it. Primary Use: Family transportation |

1987 Escort Gl Wagon — Good car for in town commuting to work. Terrible on highway, no overdrive and no power for passing. Mazda drivetrain is solid but tech is very outdated (throttle body injection) and three speed tranny had problems downshifting from 3rd to 2nd gear under WOT. Drove great in snow but ran rough in cold weather until engine warmed up. Reliable cheap car for commuting to work and nothing more. Would recommend a newer Escort, early '90's. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Wonderful — This is my pride and joy. My 1987 Ford Escort XR3I Cabriolet 1.6 MFI. It handles predictabley well and has been completley de-chaved. This is in original condittion with even the original cassette stereo that came with it. It has almost every concievable extra that was provided by the showroom! :) Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

My First Proper Car! — Excellent at starting every morning without fail but extremely dodgy brakes and tyres! I crashed it 9 times in 6 months but it was the cars fault not mine! Started out as a nice looking car with a practically mint interior but after all the crashes it was about 12 inches shorter and the headlights faced the sky! Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Not The Best Example Of American Economy Cars. — This was probably the worst most unreliable vehicle I owned. The engines were known for head gasket problems amongst many other things. You could get it with a 3 speed automatic that was horrible, with the option of a 5 speed manual, which was the way to go. American economy cars weren't the best in the eighties, and this car was a good example of that. |

Perfect — this car is has blazing speed and acceleration! it's handling is unlike any other! it is a beautiful car inside and out. i've owned this sweet ride for almost a year now and i've never stopped loving it. it has only needed new tires and i got some sick ones. |

In The Early Nineties, This Was A Hot Car.... — Manual transmission, I had the Oakley Thermonuclear Protection craze going on with a huge sticker on the back window and reflective Oakley stickers on the door handles. It was "sporty", not a aports car. It was "quick" but didn't accelerate that fast. But it looked the part for the time. Yeah, I'mnot really a Ford person, but I liked it. |
