will pull the crap out of a trailer. 4 speed manual trany. 4 inch body lift. gas milage not too bad. bought for 1800. body excellent condition little rust. great headlights. strong grill guard. interior not too bad. strong built. excellent to drive. had only 75000 miles when i bought it. i put 2500 a month on itOct 07, 2011

It is a 4 speed manual so it is not very quick and it weighs 8800 pounds so it takes a bit to slow it down. For the weight it handles decent. It needs batteries, tailpipe and a rear u-joint. It does not squeak or rattle. The body is a bit rusty but the interior is in pretty good shape. It is a diesel and it is pretty good on fuel for a almost 9000LB truck.Jul 20, 2011

This truck started as a 3/4 ton long box 4x4 that had been slid into a power pole. i paid $200 for the thing. then i tore it down and put the cab and axles on an '82 Bronco frame and with my dads help built a flatbed for it. if you cant tell there is only about 11 inches of clearace between the rear tires and the back of the cab. this thing is super short. Recently i have upgraded the rear springs which added about 4 inches of lift on the rear end. this truck is still classified as an F-250. It only weighs about 2 1/2 ton with the sides and tailgate on the bed. Altogether i've only invested about $900 in it which includes the Bronco that i baught for the frame. my future plans are to level up the front clip and add some larger tires. and if i go crazy i'll through in a 5.9l cummins with an allison trany behind it. Good for hauling heavy loads. It has a 6.9 diesel engine. 4x4 other wise well know as a better truck at this point. Needs aloot of t.l.e. Looking for a face lift in the near future.but a very good running truck in my book.Jan 08, 2011

Very good drive. Even at around 270,000 plus miles its holding in there. The 351 engine keeps a lot of powere under the hood and the horse power is good too. The funds needed to run this beast? Gas and oil. Thats about it but it will run you a pretty penny.Jul 29, 2010

Performance - It has no Balls, but tons of Torque
Build - the 6.9L Diesel is a hunk of crap
Appearance - it's an 86' but they can be made to look nice
Cost of Ownership - It's a diesel so the gas (Fuel) isn't to bad but sirtantly not the best. It's hard to kill them that is for sure.
Fun Factor - Turn the pump up, throw on some 33's and go play in the mud, have a big truck ready to pull you out though, this thing is a freakin' tank!Oct 09, 2009

Holy crap best vehicle I have owned. The 460 was a monster I wish I still had this truck. The gas mileage was terrible, but oh well the truck was a blast to drive. It had a lot of power in the bottom end all the way through the rpm range.Apr 10, 2009

solenoid keeps going out
i drive a 86 ford f250. i recently replaced the battery, starter, and solenoid. the first time, it started up a few times, then the starter kept cranking and the only way to stop it was disconnect the battery. by the time i got this done the starter was well burned up so i replaced it and the solenoid again, assuming Oriley gave me a bad part. the same thing happened again as soon as i replaced them. after about 4 starts the starter stayed engaged until the battery was disconnected. i checked all my wires and ignition switch and cant find anything wrong. i figure something is happening to cause the solenoid to stay engaged and let power through it even when it is not recieving power. i just don't know what could be causing this in such short periods of time

Tranny clutch or transfer case problem 86 ford f250
So I have a 86 ford f250 with the 460 4x4 starts runs beautifully but ran into some issues I'm unsure about I got rodded her last year and all the sudden it just wouldnt got so she starts but doesn't go I drop it into gear without any problems but wont go so I went and bought another t18 transmission put her in and put her together and same thing so i disconnected the drive shafts and put her in gear and the joint that connects to the driveshaft moves but I can grab it with my hand and stop it while in gear so I thought maybe the transfer case so I took it off and checked again but at the input shaft that goes into the transfer case same thing I can stop it while in gear so I'm really confused if anyone could help me narrow down my problem I'd greatly appreciate it

Hazard and brake lights
I have an 1986 f250, when i turn the hazards on only the front left light blinks, but yet all the turn signals work exept one. Also no brake lights at all. But running lights work.
