Pros

A fun and responsive car.  Parts are generally available and prices are not too bad for mechanical items.

Cons

Cars of this era had weak paint and the UV at high altitude will damage the paint badly.  Weather strip is also subject to UV damage.  Cylinder heads were weak, my factory ones warped and blew head gaskets twice.  I replaced them with later L98 heads and had no more issues.

A Very Good Sports Car For The Money. — The Z51 suspension is stiff but handles well. The glass top is best for spring and fall. In the summer it lets in too much heat. The hatch back gives a lot more cargo room than you would expect and it is drivable in the winter on winter tires.

Love Hate — This car is something different, Everyone wants a peice, Still I laugh, can take them but, why spend the effort. I started out hating this car, I can not say the same now, yes it has its problems, they all do, But for the fun one has it is worth it. It leaks, It creaks, find me one other than new that doesnt. the charm of a VETTE. You do get attention in them, low key as it is I did not get the car to be

1984 Corvette — This car is just amazing to drive in. The 4+3 manual transmission makes for extremely fast aceleration and great gas mileage(28 highway). There hasnt been too much wrong with this car save for a few things in the 25 years its been in my family. Overall an amazing cruising car.

One Awsome '84 Vette — This is an awsome car to drive. The engine's tourque is amazing. I have a 4+3 manual transmission that works great. I have owned this car for fourteen years and have a little above average maintance on it. This vette handles better than any other car that I have driven. The cross-fire setup has been problem free all of these years.

Pros

Phenomenal, even if not-so-refined, handling.

Cons

At that time in automotive history, it really needed 50 more horses. Now, of course, at a mere 205 HP, it would be deemed underpowered.

Terrifically Precise Steering And Handling. — Actually this C-IV Corvette came out as a 1983 ½ model year -- the first major revision coming out of the seventies era C-III. Its handling was so radically stiff that it would beat a Lamborghini Countach on the track. Try driving it very fast on average road surfaces and your kidneys would be hurting (literally)! It was two-tone: metallic bronze and brown, with standard transmission. Because it came with high and low range differential to meet CAFE regulations (regarding gaz guzzler taxation), it had seven speed -- however, at least two of them were redundant. It was extremely fun to drive because the handling limits were so high that it was beyond the psychological limits of nearly all who drove them!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
