Choosing different packages for Acura

Asked by Tarun Nov 03, 2023 at 02:09 AM about the 2024 Acura Integra FWD with Technology and A-SPEC Package

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi

i recently bought Acura Integra 2024 model and having hard time deciding
among packages. I chose below packages:

Dent Protection: Covers minor dents up to 4 inches, Unlimited repairs, No
deductibles, Transferable to next owner.

Acura care Maintenance: Getting additional maintenance like Air/Cabin
intake filter, Automatic transmission fluid, Transfer case/Rear
differential/Break fluid, Breaks inspection.

Tire & Wheel Protection - Tire replacement if damaged. Replacement using
original parts.

I can cancel or keep any package I want. Consider living in California bay
area, what would you recommend to keep or drop?

If you're rich, old, and know nothing about cars, get everything that makes you feel comfortable and protected. There's nothing like being retired with car problems, and having them covered by someone else..... I'm 76 and live near the beach in Orange County and my company has me in a Bentley Bentayga, the most ridiculous car in the world, But financially, it's not my problem. And as GA said, San Francisco has salt-air problems, which I experienced when I used to live in Pacific Heights, just above the Ferrari dealer.

What exactly do these plans cover? Parts and labor? Just Parts? Just labor? I'd drop the dent protection. It just sounds silly to me. I'd also drop the tire and wheel protection. Tires will only last for about five years at best. If you do happen to run over a nail or screw you can get the tire plugged anywhere pretty reasonably. Plus they'll probably only pay for a portion of the tire if it somehow gets destroyed a year or two or three down the road. If you happen to damage a wheel your full coverage automobile insurance may cover that. Carefully read what is covered by the maintenance agreement. In the long run it might not be worth it. Buying a brand new vehicle is partly an emotional experience. Especially if it's your first time. The salesperson knows that, and is trained to be mindful of your desire to keep your vehicle new forever. But that doesn't happen. When buying add ons think with your head, not your heart. How often are you actually going to use this stuff? Hope that helps! Jim
